This is a blooming good way to recycle old paper and make the world a prettier place!

What you need:

-          Non-glossy scrap paper, preferably printed with organic ink

-          Small, flat seeds – best to choose native species

-          Old wooden picture frame

-          Fine mesh screen– large enough to fit frame

-          Stapler

-          Large flat basin – large enough for frame to fit inside

-          Blender

What you do:

Staple the mesh tightly to the frame.

Tear scrap paper into small pieces and soak in warm water for 30 minutes.

Add paper/water mixture to blender until half full and blend until smooth.

Pour mixture into basin and repeat a few times until your basin is at least half full.

Stir in seeds.

Dip frame into basin and rock gently back and forth to cover the screen with a layer of pulp mixture. Remove frame from basin and gently press down on pulp mixture to remove excess water.

Place frame in sunlight to dry mixture overnight (check the weather forecast for rain!)  When it’s dry, remove paper from frame.  Now you have your seed paper. You can cut it into smaller sheets and write your friends a short note with directions to plant the paper in the ground and water it.
