Hmph! Purr-cilla told me not to even bother trying to make a craft to sell at the craft table because no one would want to buy anything made by me. But I’ll show her. I am making these awesome beeswax candles. They’re really simple. Even I can do it!
What you need:
- Sheet of beeswax
- Large pre-waxed wick
(both available at your local craft store)
- Raffia ribbon
What you do:
To make two candles cut the sheet of wax in half lengthwise. Cut a wick to the same length as the short side of the wax sheet and place it along one end of the sheet, positioned so that the end of the wick sits about a half inch above the top of the sheet. Starting at the end with the wick, roll the sheet of beeswax tightly around the wick and continue to roll until the whole sheet is rolled up around the wick.
Repeat the process with your leftover sheet of beeswax and decorate your candle with a bit of raffia ribbon.
How about that? I think that is one nice looking candle, even if I do say so myself!

This is really nice looking, but I don’t think it would make a good candle. It’s too small.
