Ella interviews Kinzville residents about spring

Ella McWoof here. It seems like spring is just around the corner here in Kinzville. Birds are singing, the sun is shining, and the snow is starting to melt. With spring in the air I thought now would be the perfect time to interview a few residents of Kinzville about what it is that they like best about spring.

EM: Here’s Molly out enjoying this lovely day. Molly, what is your favorite thing about spring?

Molly: Well, I guess this year it would be Spring Break because I just got some awesome news – Polly has invited me to go with her family to the Big City!

EM: That is exciting, Molly! And how about your friend, Sparky? Sparky, can you tell us your favorite thing about spring?

Sparky: Well, I never really thought about it before but I guess I like St. Patrick’s Day because it is all about luck. I never really believed in lucky charms before, but Stoogles gave me this magic stone and I think it might actually be bringing me good luck!

EM: Okay, Sparky. Well, that is certainly – um – different. Here’s Nibbles. Nibbles, I’ll bet I can guess your favorite thing about spring. Is it helping plan Plumpy’s wedding?

Nibbles: Um, well, sure. I guess that’s okay. But what I especially like is that the weather is getting nicer, because my friend, Laurabeard, is living on a boat right now and sometimes I worry about her when the weather’s not good. But with spring coming I won’t worry so much.

EM: That’s so sweet, Nibbles! Here is Fluffington St. Bernard. Fluffington, can you tell us what you like about spring?

Fluffington: Well, I like seeing my gardeners hauling loads of dirt and getting down in the mud and planting my beautiful garden. I am so proud of my garden – it is the loveliest garden in all of Kinzville and that’s because I work so hard at telling my gardeners what to do. Yes, after a long day of ordering my gardeners about I am exhausted. But you know, pride comes from a job well done and seeing the results of my efforts makes it all worthwhile.

EM: Wow. Yes, Fluffington, that must be really tough on you, having to order other people around all day so that you have a beautiful garden to enjoy. You wouldn’t want to actually get your hands dirty like the rest of us.

Fluffington: I should think not!

EM: Moving on, let’s talk to Ms. Birdy. Ms. Birdy, tell us – what is it about spring that appeals to you?

Ms. Birdy: Well, Ella, there is nothing I enjoy more than taking a long walk with a good friend on a sunny afternoon.

EM: Any friend in particular, Ms. Birdy?

Ms. Birdy: Well, that is for me to know, young lady. Hee hee!

EM: Interesting. Oh look! Here is Dr. Quack. Dr. Quack, I was just asking Ms. Birdy what she liked about spring. How about you?

Dr. Quack: Well, you know, Ella, I really enjoy going for a nice walk in the spring. In fact, I was just on my way now. Ms. Birdy, would you care to join me?

Ms. Birdy: Why, I’d be delighted.

EM: Well, well. What a coincidence. And there you have it readers – a little snapshot of what some of the residents of Kinzville like about spring. I hope you’re enjoying the nicer weather where you are!
