Wow!!! We had almost 900 entries in our 2017 Pet Design Contest! You guys did an amazing job and made it very, very difficult for us to narrow it down to just ten finalists. Every submission was excellent and we think they would all make great Webkinz pets! But we had to narrow it down to just ten.

Now we want your input. While the final decision rests with the judges at Webkinz, we will take your comments into consideration when making our final choice which will be announced on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2017.

When looking at all of the creative, wonderfully executed submissions, we tried to choose finalists that had a unique twist. Sometimes it was a clever idea – like making a dragon out of dragon fruit, or a butterfly’s wings out of Webkinz Magic Ws, a turtle out of a rose, or putting monarch butterfly wings onto a dragon. Sometimes it was a unique new animal we hadn’t seen before – like a Hippocampi or an Orchid Mantis. And sometimes it was just a neat pet that we think our members would love – like a chocolate bunny, a Loch Ness monster, an axolotl, or a Jade Fu dog.

Nine of the following ten pet designers – and our honourable mention – will each receive a 1 Month Deluxe Membership. The winner will receive a virtual version of their winning entry, a brand new Pet Design Trophy plus a 1 Year Deluxe Membership.

Hi. I know this is not what you are looking for here but I have been wanting to comment on some amazing designs I saw. I thought I looked at all the designs but I never saw any of these. I do not think I saw 900 of them so I will relook. I was really surprised by the number of entries that were sea animals or googles. Makes me think players want more of these. The notable ones I saw were Garden Googles, Dozen Years of Fun Frog, Dove, Sweet Smelling Skunk and Jumbleberry Fields puppy. I would love to see these incorporated in the future. I am glad ‘you’ had the job to narrow it down. Congratulations to the finalists!
I love these finalists. Why? Because they are very different and creative. I personally don’t want to see hundreds of breeds of dogs, real or imagined, and not have many sea creatures, insects, etc. I can think of so many sea creatures and insects that are not Webkinz, such as an octopus, sea urchin, eel, mantis (that may change soon though), and many others. But each month we get a breed of dog, cat, horse, or rabbit, and something else that is only somewhat different. I’m not saying I DISLIKE them, but I would love to see some more variety. ;)
These are all fantastic! I could definitely see myself adopting a Loch Ness Monster pet!
I think Hippocampi is unique and colorful. It is my first choice. My second is Red Rose Turtle. It is lovely.

I think they usually do one every year for Webkinz Day. And last year they did one for Halloween too, which was cool.
They’ve only had 4 so far and tend to do 1-2 pet design contests per year
Yeah; they did the Design a Dog one first (for Webkinz day in 2014), then they had Design a Webkinz Contest where you could do a Bear, a Cat, a Horse, or a Dragon (that was for Webkinz day in 2015), and then they had a Design a Halloween pet contest in 2016 (for Halloween, obviously. Actually, I don’t think there was a pet design contest for Webkinz day last year.. Just the Halloween one). And of course we have the Pet Design contest this year.
