Wow!!! We had almost 900 entries in our 2017 Pet Design Contest! You guys did an amazing job and made it very, very difficult for us to narrow it down to just ten finalists. Every submission was excellent and we think they would all make great Webkinz pets! But we had to narrow it down to just ten.

Now we want your input. While the final decision rests with the judges at Webkinz, we will take your comments into consideration when making our final choice which will be announced on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2017.

When looking at all of the creative, wonderfully executed submissions, we tried to choose finalists that had a unique twist. Sometimes it was a clever idea – like making a dragon out of dragon fruit, or a butterfly’s wings out of Webkinz Magic Ws, a turtle out of a rose, or putting monarch butterfly wings onto a dragon. Sometimes it was a unique new animal we hadn’t seen before – like a Hippocampi or an Orchid Mantis. And sometimes it was just a neat pet that we think our members would love – like a chocolate bunny, a Loch Ness monster, an axolotl, or a Jade Fu dog.

Nine of the following ten pet designers – and our honourable mention – will each receive a 1 Month Deluxe Membership. The winner will receive a virtual version of their winning entry, a brand new Pet Design Trophy plus a 1 Year Deluxe Membership.

We wanted to give a shout out to Worldcombiner for their adorable submission. The Farm Fresh Egg was one of our favorite entries. Unfortunately we couldn’t quite figure out how to make it into a Webkinz pet at this point, but who knows – maybe one day!

Dragon Fruit is so clever!
I love the Chocolate Bunny and the Rose Turtle. Rose is my middle name and I love that the rose is the shell of the turtle. very good job on all of them. it is going to be tough to see which one wins.

Wow! What a great job everyone has done. I love the Hippocampi and the Axolotl. I wish everyone “Good Luck”. And I sure don’t envy you judges. Can’t wait to see who the winner is.

WOW!!! I just want to say how AMAZING so many HUNDREDS of entries were in this contest! And I know how hard you all worked on your designs and for those who didn’t make it to the finals…I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL but please never give up!!! Like I said in a previous comment, I have been playing WW for 10 years+ and have entered many many contests and never won. My SEA URCHIN was top viewed and top rated but did not win (which confused many of my friends and family who voted for it) this contest, that is okay, I understand now the judges were interested in a morph style pet that would combine two different things in one which is so cool but most of us didn’t know that was what they were looking for this contest. Just be happy about your design and be proud!!! Keep entering and playing Webkinz, don’t be discouraged! High Five to ALL who worked so hard on their entries! From my Webkinz lover heart to yours, keep playin’ and having fun!!!
I absolutely loved the Sea Urchin! In fact every time I look at it (screen shot it), I crack up. It is one of my favourites. With regard to your comment, nicely said. I too have been playing for 10+ years and while winning contests would be nice, it is not my primary reason for playing. Webkinz has so much to offer in other ways.

Well, they don’t base the finalists on views or ratings– especially since members can rate their own submissions ten (multiple times), and go through rating other people’s one. It wouldn’t really be fair. Plus, if a member has a lot of friends on Webkinz Newz, they might rate the member’s submissions high pretty often. I’m glad they don’t do that, because a lot of my favorites in the Share Center had low ratings for some reason. :/
