Wow!!! We had almost 900 entries in our 2017 Pet Design Contest! You guys did an amazing job and made it very, very difficult for us to narrow it down to just ten finalists. Every submission was excellent and we think they would all make great Webkinz pets! But we had to narrow it down to just ten.

Now we want your input. While the final decision rests with the judges at Webkinz, we will take your comments into consideration when making our final choice which will be announced on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2017.

When looking at all of the creative, wonderfully executed submissions, we tried to choose finalists that had a unique twist. Sometimes it was a clever idea – like making a dragon out of dragon fruit, or a butterfly’s wings out of Webkinz Magic Ws, a turtle out of a rose, or putting monarch butterfly wings onto a dragon. Sometimes it was a unique new animal we hadn’t seen before – like a Hippocampi or an Orchid Mantis. And sometimes it was just a neat pet that we think our members would love – like a chocolate bunny, a Loch Ness monster, an axolotl, or a Jade Fu dog.

Nine of the following ten pet designers – and our honourable mention – will each receive a 1 Month Deluxe Membership. The winner will receive a virtual version of their winning entry, a brand new Pet Design Trophy plus a 1 Year Deluxe Membership.

These are all amazing, but my top 3 would have to be: 1. Hippocampus. It is new, unique, and well designed. 2. Axolatl. It is adorable, and again, it is just something new and different. 3. Orchid Mantis. We do not have too many insect pets, and this one is very detailed. Good luck to all!

Wow, amazing job to all of you and congratulations for being chosen finalists. I love them all but my two favorites are Farm Fresh Egg and Orchid Mantis.
Here are my top 3: 1. Orchid Mantis – The design is so pretty and detailed! I used to have a pet praying mantis named Monty :) 2. Hippocampus – I love sea monster pets and this one is just adorable! 3. Axolotl – while I don’t know how to pronounce the name, it looks so cute! I think it would be good to make unique pets again like these 3 pets instead of just adding a new cutesy pattern onto an already designed animal base. That’s just my opinion though, thanks! Jesus loves you!
I agree, that it would/will be nice if they pick a “NEW” pet rather than just a redesigned one, but I’m sure no matter what they pick, the end result will be great. With that being said, if they pick the turtle, they should do the rose snail that was submitted as well and maybe a few other rose pets.
Oh yeah, I really liked the Rose Snail. I thought it was cute and creative, and the rose was well drawn– and the Rose Jam as a PSF is a pretty neat idea.

Yeah, probably. I personally prefer the Rose Snail– I was actually thinking it’d probably be a finalist. It has a lot of detail in it and it’s adorable ^w^ I like the Dragon Fruit too, though. Especially the belly speckles. :3
Thanks hollow79! ^w^ Oh, and “axolotl” is pronounced pretty much how it looks– it’s “ax-oh-lot-el”… I guess? If you go on Google Translate and type in “axolotl” (with the language on English), you can hear the audio for it by clicking a little speaker icon thingy.

My top 3 are: 3. Dragon Fruit, it’s a cute design for a dragon; 2. Red Rose Turtle, it’s incredibly detailed and also adorable; and 1. Loch Ness Monster, the design is just SOO CUTE!!!!! I also really like the Farm Fresh Egg, just like every finalist, it deserves to win! Congrats to all 11 of you, and congrats to whichever of the first 10 win!
