Wow!!! We had almost 900 entries in our 2017 Pet Design Contest! You guys did an amazing job and made it very, very difficult for us to narrow it down to just ten finalists. Every submission was excellent and we think they would all make great Webkinz pets! But we had to narrow it down to just ten.

Now we want your input. While the final decision rests with the judges at Webkinz, we will take your comments into consideration when making our final choice which will be announced on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2017.

When looking at all of the creative, wonderfully executed submissions, we tried to choose finalists that had a unique twist. Sometimes it was a clever idea – like making a dragon out of dragon fruit, or a butterfly’s wings out of Webkinz Magic Ws, a turtle out of a rose, or putting monarch butterfly wings onto a dragon. Sometimes it was a unique new animal we hadn’t seen before – like a Hippocampi or an Orchid Mantis. And sometimes it was just a neat pet that we think our members would love – like a chocolate bunny, a Loch Ness monster, an axolotl, or a Jade Fu dog.

Nine of the following ten pet designers – and our honourable mention – will each receive a 1 Month Deluxe Membership. The winner will receive a virtual version of their winning entry, a brand new Pet Design Trophy plus a 1 Year Deluxe Membership.

Alrighty, looks like I should officially cast my vote. It’s so tough to pick a top 3, everyone’s entries are very creative and unique! However, if I were to pick my 3 favorites, they would be 1. The hippocampi by Pokekinz, 2. The orchid Mantis by poofmon, and 3. The Axolotl by taydarsauce :) In all, though, everyone’s designs were great (the Jade fu dog, monarch dragon, red rose turtle, chocolate bunny, webkinz w butterfly, Loch Ness monster, and dragon fruit were all very cute!), and may the best one win!!

I like the loss net monster…we never have stuff like this.,….and I like the first entry the hippo with the long tail……But I always wondered why you never had a mermaid?
Oh, it’s actually basically a horse with a long fish tail… The “hippo” is derived from a Greek word that sounds sort of like it, I think. I think they never maid a mermaid because it looks so much like a human. We do have Sera, though; she’s a mermaid. :)
My favorite by far is the hippocampi! I think it is SUCH a unique pet idea, one that is different from many current webkinz, and it looks like the artist put a lot of time, thought and effort into creating it. I also am very fond of the monarch dragon, so that would be my second choice!

Orchid Mantis!
These pet designs are amazing! We have such a creative community of players here! That Farm Fresh Egg cracks me up! I hope the team does figure out how to make it into a plush pet. Each featured design is so unique! I love the Axolotl’s PSI and PSF. I saw a mantis that looked just like the Orchid Mantis in my garden last fall. It was on a lavender mum. I took pictures! The one pet that I would definitely buy, though, is the Hippocampi because for me, nothing can beat a horse from the sea!
