then he split the earth in two and took Persephone now the only way Persephone could stay is eating food from the under world but Persephone was smart and did not eat or take any thing Hades pleaded and begged saying he had all the riches that she could ever want but Persephone replied i want the sun the warmth the flowers and i want my mom.
now Demeter was heart broken she lost her only daughter so she never gave crops and the earth began to get cold
Zeus told her that her daughter was gone and that made her even more sad then told Hermes to go look so there Hermes found her in the under world and told her of how her mom was looking for her and how she should come with him immediately
she was over joyed for a chance of freedom but Hades was expecting this here have food for the long journey and offered her 6 pomegranate seeds she didn’t see the harm in six little seeds so she ate them with delight and left so when she was reunited with her mom she told her of how she got out and of the pomegranate seeds then her mom became saddened for now Persephone was Hades property now but Zeus came down and asked how many seeds she had eaten and said that is how long you will stay down with Zeus so now we have 6 months of warm weather and 6 months cold weather
