Are the new designs going to replace the old designs?, I hope not. :(

As I said in the other article about the new plush—they’re kind of growing on me. My initial reaction wasn’t positive—they reminded me of those huge-eyed plush toys I don’t particularly care for—but the more I see them, the more I like them. I’ll still wait for other models to come out before deciding if I’ll buy one.

not as cute as the original….

I think the price is reasonable for a plush, 2 codes and shipping. However, I would not want these plushies as they aren’t cute. I don’t like the new game; it’s just too weird looking and I like game which I can’t do more than 3 times each. SO. For me, not worth it for just the one code.

I was sad when Beanie Babies were replaced with Beanie Boos (more glossy, less personality, and most of all MORE UNCANNY VALLEY) and I’m even sadder to see the exact same thing here. Big eyes and heads aren’t everything. They look…less alive. I never see cool stuffed animals at the store (be it Smiths or wherever) anymore because they all seem to look like this. Like they’ve seen things.

i wish they looked more realistic :/ not going to lie, those big eyes are creeping me out

Disappointing! They don’t look like webkinz!

Just curious :) I thought it was mentioned time and time again that the two games were separate games…now we see an expensive plush and a code for Classic…so what changed your mind about keeping the two games separate from each other?

Looks like webkinz is taking the same route as beanie babies, replacing beloved plush toys with this new “cutesie” style. Giant heads, big emotionless glass eyes, garish colors, stiff bodies made for display and not play, and way too many sparkles. I guess the design is popular because it’s all I see in toy stores these days, but I just don’t find it appealing. Ah well.

I like them. Maybe it is because I am completely new to Webkinz old and new. I am a little bummed that I just bought the unicorn on the new Webkinz and didn’t know that there was going to be a stuffed animal that I could get along with the code…but I did order the stuffed unicorn. And I am sorry that you are hearing so many negative comments. Really the fact that we are getting to choose whether we play or buy the new or classic Webkinz and/or the new or old stuffies in and of itself is a luxury. And I really hope that there are enough people who continue to play and buy these fun games so that the staff at Webkinz continues to have jobs. As my husband actually lost his last week, and we don’t know whether he’ll find another one soon. BUT I can say that being able to escape from reality into this playful world of Webkinz saved my sanity lately. And I should say, I have bought the old Webkinz stuffies and a plethora of other stuffed animals over the past 2 decades for my daughter who is now in college, and still has a ginormous amount of stuffed animals. And I too have some I think are cuter than others. And I think it is great that we have so many to choose from, and that Ganz decided to give it another go with a new line. Thank you for all your hard work.
