Is there some species of ostrich with black hair on their head that I don’t know about? Because that doesn’t look like an ostrich to me.
i think it might be a baby one. there is only one species of ostrich.
There are several sub-species of ostrich, identified by their neck colour. The black necked ostrich is from South Africa. The blue neck is extinct. There is a pink neck and a brown neck also. I’ve forgotten the others. Source: SD Zoo

I am in Canada, too. They don’t cost that much more. If you were spending hundreds of dollars, maybe, but 15.00? That’s only about 3 or 4 dollars more. That wouldn’t even cover the cost of shipping. From ON – AB the shipping of a parcel under 500 gm would cost around $17.00 you’re essentially getting the pet for free.
