UPDATE: We are aware of the glitch with the Gem Hunt Kit and this will be fixed after on next update on February 18th.
Mayor Arte has returned to Kinzville Park to hand out gifts to all of his friends and fans!
From February 2 – 9, use the Things To Do menu to visit Arte at Kinzville Park. You’ll see him standing near Mr. Moo’s ice cream stand:
You can click on Arte to collect a gift from him each day. Each gift contains one of four new prizes: a Mayor Arte Action Figure, Blue Lightning Skateboard, Curio Shop Trunk or a Gem Hunt Kit that you can drag into a room and click on to open:
Each gift awards one of these prizes randomly, so visit Arte every day at Kinzville Park for the best chance to collect all four!

I lost two gem gits on one account today and one on a different account. Please help with this issue!
I just want to add that after reading the posts here I went back into the rooms where I had placed gem boxes and was able to click on them and return them to my dock thus retrieving the gem kits. It may take you a minute to find where you placed the gem hunt kit but it does work. Thank you for posting that tip!
My Gem Hunt Kit disappeared when I put it in my room!

my gem hunt kit disappeared when I tried to put it in my room. I have looked everywhere in the room, no gem kit. HELP

My Gem Hunt Kit not only turned invisible when I placed it in a room on a counter, it also made the counter stuck/unremovable from the room. I sent an email. No response yet, but it hasn’t even been a week. Still. It’s kind of a stinky glitch. :(

Thanks for the help. I was able to click around and find my pile of gems. I went ahead and put it back in my dock as suggested by Randrocks above.
my gem kit disappeared as well! super confusing, but surely ganz will fix this. best thing to do is click around the area until the invisible item turns into a pile of gems, and remove it back into the dock until it’s all fixed.
I’m glad that I’m not the only one who had their Gem Kit disappear! I can’t find it at all. It appeared and then reappeared. What do I do? I tried clicking on the area where I placed it and nothing happened. I tried moving furniture, changing out flooring and nothing. I’m so sad!
i logged on here today to see if anyone else has a disappearing gem hunt kit. obviously it is an issue which needs to be addressed at update (or before?)… what is odd is that no one from ganz has responded… however, in the mean time just to add a bit of info, yes, if you click on the invisible item it will turn into a pile of sparkling gems (i assume that’s what it is)… but it remains that we can never see the item intact (i.e. that’s when it is unseeable). hope this helps & thanks, k.
