Baby Showcase #113

Happy Winter Solstice! It’s the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere, so be sure to cozy up with some cocoa or enjoy some holiday lights to mark the occasion. I’ve got a lovely collection of soltice babies to share today!

First up is this absolutely gorgeous Pixie Tiger, appropriately with the Night Tiger body coloring. Adding to this perfection is the Moon Bear marks, which add an otherwordly charm to this beautiful baby. Those cotton candy ears are beautiful and coordinate so well with this body color, and I love the blue feathers. The yellow gum drop pet patch is a perfect holiday nod to this otherwise blue/pink/purple pet!

We’re counting down to Christmas with some gorgeous Gingerbread Puppies! First up is this cute green baby — it has the green eyes and pet patch of a frog, but some lovely zebra stripes on the back to give some texture. I love the little buttons down the front and that touch of purple and blue with the rainbow flair on the legs.

Check out this adorable yorkie! This mostly standard pet is elevated somewhat with the lighter body color, the pink ears and eyes from a Unicorn, and that adorable dash of holiday flair on the ears.

Another baby sporting some holiday flair is this cute rose-colored Husky! Those pretty purple ears coordinately beautifully with the eyes, and that wreath pet patch solidly marks the holidays!

Now this impressive retriever has this really cool dark grey body color, which really makes those rainbow features pop! That tiki back pattern is also pretty awesome, and the Tulip Pony’s vivid violet tulip pet patch is really striking. Those violet flair eyes are pretty intense, but this bold pup is a rockstar!

This cutie Vampire Kitten inherited its back pattern and eyes from the Gingerbread Puppy, but also got the holiday flair on the ears! Not a bad combination of Christmas and Halloween!

Here’s another cross between a Vampire Kitten and Gingerbread Puppy, and Christmas was definitely dominant! While there’s the little pumpkin pet patch and the Vampire Kitten eyes, this pet has both the lovely holiday tree back pattern and the fun festive wreath chest pattern. I love the little hint of rainbow on the ears, since it goes so well with those eyes.

Another Gingerbread Puppy and it’s a tangerine dream! This one has the fun candy back pattern, which is appropriate with the red candy cane pet patch! I can’t resist the little orange ones — I hope to eventually collect one of each Gingerbread Puppy color!

While this cool spring body color is paired with the warm spring fawn horns, the sled dog pet patch puts this pet firmly as a winter pet! I do love the coloration from the zebra stripes, and of course the holiday flair on the front legs is a lovely nod to the holiday season!

More purple/blue! This is a great color combo for the grey tabby, and this one has ears that coordinate with its pumpkin pet patch! The tiger stripes back is an interesting variation from the standard stripes, and the Vampire Kitten eyes go perfectly with the purple of this pet.

Last but not least, a glittery, icy Holland Lop! It’s a bit tricky to see the glittering ears, but the toes are delightful. Paired with the icy eyes, this baby is a perfect seasonal pet!

That’s it for this week! I’ll be popping on Webkinz Next on Christmas morning to get my present and to spark my Gingerbread Puppy and Tulip Pony. We’ll have a proper spark party on January 1! What should I name my Christmas baby? Let me know in the comments below!

What a great color on Flame Brightgrass’s baby.

All of these pets are really beautiful. Great colors and features here too. I think my favorite would probably be the dark gray rainbow retriever, but several of the others stand out as well.

Aw, such cute babies! Here are a few more potential names: Gumdrop, Mistletoe, Cinnamon, or Berry. I hope you spark a really cool pet with holiday accents- can’t wait to see! I’m hoping to spark a purple or green gingerbread puppy with holiday trees on Christmas. Happy Winter Solstice, and Merry Christmas everyone! :)

What a great batch of seasonal babies! Congrats to all of the featured new Next parents! I really like all of the purple/blue wintry looking combo pets this week. The colors look so interesting on Sun Marvelsquint’s frosty fawn, and Blossom Purpleshadow has the best color combo that I have ever seen on a grey tabby. I love the showstopping colors and patterns on Dash Sunnyflame’s super rare pixie tiger baby. Sally, I can hardly wait to hear how your Christmas spark turns out, and I am eagerly awaiting your new year’s spark party. I’ve been thinking about names for your Christmas spark, and since you are combining your spicy gingerbread puppy and your tulip pony, how about a spicy flowery name like ‘Jasmine’? There are all of the traditional Christmas season names like Noel, Merry, Natalie/Natalia, Natasha, Holly, Ivy, Joy, Angel, Gabriel, Carol, Clara, Clarence (nod to “It’s a Wonderful Life”!), Nicholas, any of the 9 reindeer names (particularly Rudolph if you get a cute red-nosed puppy!), Jesse (meaning – gift), Yule, or Shiloh (which means ‘peace’, which we could all use a little more of this year!) I really hope that you get your tangerine puppy and maybe you can name him/her ‘Clementine’! Happy Winter Solstice to all of you as well!

What ARE each of the gingerbread puppy colors to which you are referring? I got a dark one so far, and named him ‘Cocoa’ (my favorite drink, so a no-brainer for me!)

      • sally says:

They come in regular gingerbread, light gingerbread, dark chocolate, holiday red, clementine, holiday green, festive purple, and wintermint!

        • kalcan8 says:

Ooooo… thank you Sally! The wintermint sounds interesting. A few weeks ago, I think that you featured a ‘clown puppy’ that must have been that color. I would love a purple one as that is my favorite color. I don’t know which pets would help increase the likelihood of that outcome. I have a LOT of unicorns, but unlike you, I don’t prefer when the horn shows up on other pets, so my herd is fairly purebred. Would I need a brightly colored pet, like the moon bear to help bring about a bright holiday color? Or is it just random?

          • sally says:

The biggest factor is the rarity of the pets being used to spark — the higher the rarity of the pet, the more likely you are to get one of the rarer options. Purple is a rare color, so if you spark a gingerbread puppy with another rare pet and get a gingerbread puppy, your odds are better to get a purple one.
