Baby Showcase #222

Happy Thursday!

We are now solidly in May and it’s Mother’s Day this weekend! Let’s check out some cute babies, and then you can take a look at the spark party video from Webkinz Day.

First up is this unstriped Zebra. I saw a news article about one in real life, and the unstriped part was black rather than white, but Webkinz World always works a bit different! This cute has giraffe spots on the back instead. This cutie has a hint of purple on the ears and some rainbow flair on the leg.

Next up this glam Corgi — I love the star pattern! This mostly natural colored pet has some fun green feet, yellow ears, a big rainbow across its back and the cute badge pet patch from a German Shepherd.

This sweet Gecko has the Hippo’s pet patch and some adorable aqua feet. It has some fun stripes and a cute yellow green body color.

I’m in love with this green Bengal Tiger! It has my favorite shimmer tiger stripes, an adorable pair of burgundy horns from a Highland Cow, that adorable face pattern with the hearts and a big ol’ T on its chest. I’m definitely going to be trying for a green Bengal Tiger.

We have a cute little Meerkat in mostly natural colors, but with pretty gold and teal swirl paws, a crosshatch chest and amber ears from a Fox, and bold dark stripes on the back. The broiling sun pet patch looks almost like a flower!

I’m in love with this cute Orange Tabby Cat! It has pink horns and wings from an Ice Dragon along with a coordinating rainbow leg flair. It has dark pink eyes and a pink year 20 pet patch. Pink perfection!

This lil Chihuahua is the new sheriff in town! It has the badge pet patch and head pattern from a German Shepherd, and then some lovely green eyes and a fun graffit-style W on its chest!

Last but not least, we have this cute German Shepherd featuring the pet patch and ears from a Marble Cat. It has a light brown color, so slightly darker than default, and some cute orange feet!

That’s it for this week. Take a look at the spark party video from Webkinz Day below!

So many cute babies, plus the bonus babies in the spark party video – 21stAnniversaryBabyfest! Congrats to all of the featured new Next parents, including Sally, Mandy, and Dorothy Lou! A green bengal tiger with highland cow horns – the pet that I never knew I needed! LOL!

It was fun watching the sparking party video, but WK has never addressed the issue of why so many couldn’t sign in or why some of us didn’t get the prize even after sparking a baby. Would love to hear an explanation.

    • sally says:

There were server issues that required a restart. The party was extended and those that spent 5 minutes in the spark party received the prize. It has nothing to do with sparking and everything to do with being in the spark party for at least five minutes. Being in the Adoption Center for five minutes would not count.

      • grandmaback says:

And how were we supposed to know the party was restarted after being unable to get on for a whole hour? Most spark parties last a half hour. I did not see any notification about the times of the party or that the time would be extended. Not very happy how that was handled.

That’s my baby Gecko! So cute!

Off topic but I have realized by now since I’ve got a pet with a level 5 negotiating skill, which is the highest possible level, there exists a logical falacy in the negotiations with Farmer Will. A level 5 pet will receive a 3% increase when selling crops. However, this is too small and results in a fractional increase which is not reflected in the price offerings. The level 5 pet receives a zero increase compared to a pet with no skill applied- so it’s completely pointless. Not sure about the Curio Shop increases and how that shakes out. The WShop increase works great so I feel like a 10% increase across the board would work better and make the investment worth it.

is THAT what the negotiating skill is for? Have to get some.

    • alaynaj1212 says:

A rounding error is not a logical fallacy, nor is it true that a level 5 pet receives zero increase compared to a pet with no skill applied.

      Imagine that Farmer Will is buying corn for 30KC a stalk. Your level 0 pet will earn 30KC x 50 = 1500KC. Your level 5 pet will earn 30KC x 50 x 1.03 = 1545KC, a 45KC increase from the level 0 pet.

The same is true if the crop is a lower price. Now let’s say that Farmer Will wants cucumbers for 25KC each, but you only have 20 cucumbers lying around. In this scenario, your level 0 pet will earn 25KC x 20 = 500KC. Your level 5 pet will earn 25 KC x 20 x 1.03 = 515 KC, a 15KC increase from the level 0 pet.

I’m all for Ganz giving us more Kinzcash, but let’s not incorrectly accuse them of being “pointless” before we run the numbers!

      • KarenaJ says:

I used the term logical fallacy because it seems an error in reasoning. In theory, your level 5 pet should get 3% more Kinzcash at Farmer Will’s, but in practice, your level 5 pet does not earn any additonal Kinzcash from Farmer Will. For months, I compared a level 0 pet with my level 5 pet, and regardless of what price is being offered for each crop (the prices vary on each crop at each market session) the level 5 pet never receives a better offer than a level 0 pet. If anyone is receiving more at Farmer Will’s, then their account is working better than mine, because I never recieve more for my level 5 pet. Never. Not one time. I wasn’t trying to be rude or accusatory, simply trying to inform that the percentage is too low to be reflected in reality, since fractions of Kinzcash doesn’t exist.

        • sally says:

Are you comparing the sell cost of 1 single item? Because the rounding only happens when you have a larger number. You need to earn at least 100 KinzCash from any sale to see the result, but it is cumulative.

          • KarenaJ says:

I am referring to the offer from Farmer Will. For example, say he was offering lettuce for 22, corn for 18 and tomato for 14. I take my level 0 pet and that’s the offer. I replace the level 0 pet with my level 5 pet, and Farmer Will’s offer will be the exact same. Every time. In contrast, I use a level 0 pet to sell an item to the WShop, then switch out my level 5 pet, the level 5 pet does indeed receive more Kinzcash to the tune of 10% extra, which is a boon. My point was that at Farmer Will, the benefit is too small to kick in and you do not end up earning any extra. Thanks for the reply, Sally, I didn’t know about the 100 minimum.

          • sally says:

Correct. The offer doesn’t change visually because it does not show decimals. But the % increase is there in the background and is calculated when you sell at least 100KC worth of crops. If you put one single low KinzCash item in the sale section of the W Shop, you will experience the same thing. Since you get a 10% bonus at the W Shop with level 5 Negotiating, you only need to earn 10 KinzCash on a single item to see the effect. If you sell something that’s worth less than 10 KinzCash, it won’t look different between your Level 5 and Level 0 pets — until you sell enough for it to be at least 100 KinzCash. Next time you’re at the Farmer’s Market, try maxing out your crop sales and comparing your pets — you’ll see the difference in the amount of KinzCash you receive, even if Farmer Will’s offer doesn’t change.

Ooooo… more math… you guys are awesome, but @alaynaj1212, you are making my brain hurt just a little. LOL!

    • kalcan8 says:

Ooooo… math and research… my compliments! It’s good to know if investing in the skill cards is actually worth it. Hopefully the staff will look into this, and make any needed adjustments. Thank you, friend and analyst, KarenaJ!

      • KarenaJ says:

LOL your welcome kalcan8! The skill is for sure worth it with the WShop bonus alone, just don’t expect a boost at Farmer Will’s. You are to get a 5% boost with Amanda Panda, however, I haven’t crunched the numbers on that one! :)
