The DIY Design Event starts today on Webkinz Classic and runs until Monday, May 10!
Log in to your Webkinz Classic account and look for the floating bottle of DIY (Do It Yourself) Dye, and click on it to get a DIY Design Ticket, piece of furniture or bottle of dye.
There are three pieces of DIY furniture you can win from the dye bottle floaty clicky (a rug, chair and window) and there are 3 colors of dye to collect (green, blue and purple). There is only one type of DIY Design Ticket, but you’ll also get one every day you log in to your Webkinz Classic account during this event.
If you combine a DIY Design Ticket with a piece of DIY furniture and dye on the Clothing Machine at the KinzStyle Outlet, you can make a new piece of furniture for your pet, featuring the color of dye that you decided to use:
On May 5, we will also be releasing a special DIY Retro Dye that will only be able to purchase, with eStore points, at the Ganz eStore or the NEW & PROMOS section of the WShop.
You can combine bottles of DIY Retro Dye with DIY furniture pieces and a DIY Design Ticket to make some new, funky furniture for your pets!
You can always check the DIY Design Guide for recipes and to learn more about this event. You’ll be awarded a guide the first time you log in to your Webkinz Classic account during this event. You will also be able to find them in the FUN STUFF section of the WShop, under BOOKS.
On Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 9), we will be having a special Mother’s Day Vase floaty clicky event! During this one day event, you’ll be able to collect Mother Day Vases and display them in your pet’s room. If you rotate the vase, it will change color so you can match it with your favorite DIY furniture!
DIY Design recipes will not expire after the event, so you can keep making furniture for your pets as long as you have DIY Design Tickets, furniture and dyes. The tickets/dyes/furniture can also be traded and sent through KinzPost, so make sure to play every day to collect as many as you can!

So I have multiple accounts and since I am not getting any actual dye on my account I logged into one of my other ones on my phone while I was on the computer. Not only did I get 4 bottles of dye but they came quicker on the phone!
I had both the computer and the phone at the same time and I had dstarted on the computer first and had gotten 2 bottles already when I signed in on my phone and the account on my phone got all 7 first! I could tell the time interval was shorter, not tons but enough to make a difference
It’d be nice to make something….. if I actually saw an dye bottles floating across the screen……

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the idea for this event! Though so far I’ve only found two blank chairs and nothing else. I don’t see myself being able to make one of everything like I wanted to at this rate. :(
i’m having lots of trouble finding the floaties. i was online for a couple hours yesterday, but only found one dye bottle. i hope i have enough time to collect the items and dyes. :(
but i do really like the event! the concept is so cool. the purple dye is my favorite!
If it doesn’t show up after 7 minutes or so, log out and back in. If you’re playing arcade games, make sure you open the W Shop while you’re in the game so the floats will come while you’re playing.

Absolutely LOVE this event! Getting to customize furniture rocks, you have to do more events like this in the future!
It would be really awesome if you would let the floating items for not only these dye items, but for all floating items. They are either float too far apart or never show up. I don’t have ALL day to sit at a computer and wait and wait and wait for floating items! Either make them come quicker or have them for sell in the WShop or just give them to us in a gift box. Getting tired of all the waiting! :-(
The park is a good place to gather them. They seem to come about every six minutes.
clubhouse is another place they show up lots! you can also ask for them while trading.
I totally agree alucard. I am having difficulty getting the floating items too. I also want to say that I love the concept for the DIY Design. I am always amazed at so much originality coming from the designers and players. We are a great team!
I feel the same. I used to enjoy the floaty events back when it was just a couple of times a year and especially back when there was no limit to how many could be caught in a day. Now it seems like it’s every month a week of it and it is so spaced apart between the floaters, even when it’s limited to say 3 or 5 per day it still seems to end up taking me almost an hour! That’s a lot of time to just sit and stare at the screen waiting for something to catch. I really wish they just sold these things limited time in the w-shop and they could still always have them float for people who want to save the kinz cash or who enjoy sitting around waiting.

I agree with you! I do love the concept for the DIY Designs. I just wish they wouldn’t make it a “floaty” or “contest” type thing. I also wish the items were in the WShop (ONLY!!!!!), so we could pick the item we want, the color of the dye we want, and pay a reasonable amount of KINZCASH (ONLY!!!!!), for them. I think being able to do that would encourage more players to create and design items for their pets! If I have to wait for the next DIY floaty event, or have to spend my precious ePoints, I probably won’t design many items. Webkinz! Please give us the freedom to create and design within the Classic Webkinz game! Make it fun! Make it easy! Make it fair! Make it WShop/KinzCash only! Please!!!!! :-)
2 days, 14 dye bottles, NO DYE!!!!! I don’t have the time to sit and wait for all of these floaties. I will ask , like many others, to PLEASE have them appear more often and would also ask for other ways to get them such as in the daily activity or on log in get either ticket or dye or furniture and same on WKN have it be a dye bottle (with 1 of the options) vs just the ticket
i mean you can ask for them in trades
It’s comforting to see that my hubby and I aren’t the only ones! He hasn’t seen 1 single dye bottle float by, no matter how much time he spends in the game and I think I’ve gotten 4 of the white bottles and not one single dye. I’m sorry to say the clicky floaty system is not one that works well. :(
