Dr. Quack’s Journal: I’ve Made My Decision

Oh my! I finally know what I want to do.

I’ve had lots of time to think, now that pets are no longer getting sick and don’t need my medicine at the clinic. A quick snack or a bit of exercise is all that anyone needs to get feeling healthy again. I love the town of Kinzville and all of the citizens living here, but the truth is that they no longer need the services of a doctor.

This is why, after 10 years of loyal service, I have made up my mind to retire and close the clinic.

I feel rather emotional writing the words, but seeing it written down is really helping me get a sense of closure (Hoohoo! Now there’s a zinger of a pun! Have to tell that one to Fred next time I see him). There’s so much I’ve wanted to do and to see, but could never find the time to get away. I have to take this opportunity to make a change.

I’ll miss the running the clinic, but at least I’ll be able to see all my friends. I’m still having too much fun as a judge for Supermodelz, and I will certainly still welcome anyone who wants to practice being my assistant at the Employment Office.

But how to say goodbye? I think once I close the clinic on March 25th, I’ll walk around Kinzville for a few weeks so anyone who wants to say goodbye can find me. I think I’ll even prepare a few goodbye gifts for those pets nice enough to stop me on the street. THAT will put a smile on some faces…

I guess I had better start packing up my things and put up the closing sign. As sad as this moment is, I must remember: this isn’t the end for Dr. Quack, but rather a new beginning for Quincy Quack.

It seems a bit silly to make the pets no longer get sick and have Dr. Quack close his clinic. It means there’s no real consequences for not feeding or exercising your pets. Sure, their happiness level will go down, but what does that actually DO to them if not make them sick? This is usually a huge aspect of virtual pets in general, so I wonder why Ganz is doing away with it. It just seems to take some of the meaning out of caring for your pets. Does anyone else agree? Maybe instead of getting sick, pets with low health or happiness could just get kind of sad and mopey and not want to play until you feed them or exercise them; then at least you would still have some responsibility for them.

NOOOOO! Why would you take one of the best hosts away? :( I’m so sad to see him go! His clinic was one of the first places I ever went 8 years ago when I got my first Webkinz. He always made all of my pets feel better, and he also made me feel better too! Who will be our doctor when you leave? Yes, my pets haven’t been getting sick lately, but their health levels have been staying really low no matter what I do! You will definitely be missed Dr. Quincy Quack! All of my pets love you and you will always be our friend! Please don’t go though! Everyone is begging for you not to leave! Why is Ganz taking you out of Webkinz World???????????????

Good luck Dr. Quack and enjoy retirement. Your fans will always stay loyal to you no matter where you go or what you do. Take up golf – I hear doctors do that. Ha ha!

We’re going to miss you and your clinic, Dr. Quack! I have to admit, seeing my pets with a green nose and an ice pack on their head was never a pleasant sight. In fact, it was quite a sorry sight indeed. But I am going to miss telling my pets that they are going to get better soon and taking them to our home clinic. From there, I took them to visit you for a bit, and you’d say that they’d have a cold or a sore throat, and within seconds you’d have them fixed up. I always took your advice and put them straight to bed, but I had a few home remedies up my sleeve that made everyone happy. A cold usually meant homemade vegetable soup topped with Webkinz crackers. A sore throat meant twenty-four hour icy frosties and a delicious ice cream dinner. It wasn’t exactly healthy, but it certainly put smiles on their faces. I’m not going to miss them getting sick, but I’m going to miss that wonderful smile that they’d get when they found out that I was going to spend the whole day with them and we could read books, watch TV, color, and play games. We’d have so much fun. But none of it would be possible if not for your help, Dr. Quack! We’ll never forget about you!

Thanks for always being there for us, Dr. Quack! If there is anything we can do to be there for you, just let us know! We’ll be there, always!
