Early Access Is Here!

We are happy to announce that early access for the browser-based version of Webkinz Classic is now available! Now you can play with your account on either the browser version or on the Desktop App – all of your data is the same, and you can go back and forth. While this is early access, most of your favorite features are already up and running. We are continuing to work on the features that are not yet available, as well as fixing bugs. We are happy to report that both TVs and the coloring book are working again on the browser version!

Also, the join and close buttons don’t work in the Clubhouse

Is there an estimated timeframe for when it will be out of beta and working as intended? I assume not before 2026? Just asking cause the main thing I was looking forward to about it coming back to browser was using web features on my iPad & iPhone that aren’t available in the app, but I saw on the bug page that it’s not recommended for mobile yet.

Is there a possibility that Bamboo Break will return? I was only curious because you made a remake to the game on Webkinz Next, Dragon Stones. So the question is, will we possibly see Bamboo Break come out of retirement in the future?

When the full version of the Browser is available, will the old versions of Cash Cow, Polar Plunge, and Zingoz Pop remain the way they are currently or will they be replaced with the current versions?

Thank you so much for this. Really appreciated, especially for travel or times I’m not in a great place to have webkinz open on the “big” screen lol

Which Browser works best for the early Access? Chrome or Firefox?

Is the new online version a full rewrite of the game code?

I tried the early access version yesterday. It was “okay”. I know it’s still in the early stage so I’m not going to stress too much about it. I am excited about having the online browser again, but will wait and see how it goes. I do have a question: When the online browser is up and running perfectly, will we still be able to play Webkinz Classic on our desktop app? As of right now, I am happy with the desktop app, but like the idea of having the online game as my back up. (I hope that all made sense! Ha!) Anyway, thanks to all who have been working so hard to make the online game possible again. Thank you all so much! Playing on Webkinz is my favorite way to spend time relaxing each day. Don’t know what I would do without it! :-)

Once the browser version is working properly, we’ll be working on new features. These will not function on the desktop app, so eventually it will stop being available.

@sally – Thank you, Sally, for the information. I really enjoy the desktop app, but understand why it will stop being available. I can’t wait till the new browser version is working properly! This is so exciting! Will the Webkinz/Ganz team be working on the Mobile app, too? Would love to see some areas there improved as well. My Thanks and Respect to all of the Webkinz Team for their hard work! Peace! :-)

The priority is the browser version. Once that’s working on all browsers, you can access the full version of the site from mobile through a browser. The mobile app would need a full rewrite as well to update it.

Does that mean that the Mobile Wheel of Wow will cease to exist?

The mobile version has always been a totally separate thing. I assume that it will just continue on being so. It’s the desktop app that will eventually go away, not the mobile app.

Lol I tried the online browser yesterday for about 5 minutes and went back to using my desktop version of it instead. At least right now, much easier. I will note though, the message box where it tells you what fellow players are looking for this or sending you that and lets you know that you’ve done the Peek A Newz is definitely bugged, lol. It did tell me that I had done the Peek A Newz and had two friends ask me to send stuff but, the entire “box” was white and there were no pictures, no text nothing. Thought someone might want to know :)

is there anywhere for users to write to you about issues encountered while playing? I tried several times but for some reason after logging on immediately there’s some issue with loading the room where my pet is and the entire screen glitches out (both with visuals and audio) before displaying an error
