Even MORE Pet of the Month Fun Facts!

Hey, Webkinz fans! It’s so cool being Pet of the Month. Here are a few more fun facts for you:

-          Did you know that there is a type of potato called a Rooster? It’s a red potato and is the most popular type of potato eaten in Ireland.

-          Roosters can fly but not very far. We might make it over a fence or into a tree, but that’s about it.

-          Roosters are very protective of hens and we will fight off predators that try to attack our coop.

-          It’s a myth that roosters just crow in the mornings – actually we crow all day long!

Its ok. I guess there is a difference between a barnyard chicken and a pet chicken.

I am sorry Bluewolf I didn’t mean to say that all chickens are mean chickens. 20 or 30 good laying hens have a different attitude than a chicken raised as a pet. There is a big difference between a pet chicken and a barnyard chicken.

I like these fun facts about roosters! I disagree with you IrishEyes. Some chickens are cute when they are full grown and not all chickens are mean. If you want nice chickens you need to spend time with them everyday since they are around three days old or so. If you do that they can be quite friendly. I know cause i have a few pet chickens.

I lived on a dairy farm at one time and we had a whole barnyard full of chickens and a couple of roosters. They not only can fly but can chase you and can be very aggressive. Chickens and roosters both are really only cute when they are chicks. After that they just are smelly and dirty and can get very mean. Even chickens if they are trying to set on their eggs can get very mean.

Oh, so you live on a farm. ☺

hey, i have 2 roosters! (we also have 2 ducks and about 30 hens) but we have what’s called a dominate rooster. this rooster protects all the hens and crows all morning, all day, and all night! the other is really lazy and doesn’t do much. lol. fun facts though!
