I got pretty excited when I saw the ad for this–I LOVE Cars! But, I don’t live in Canada, so I can’t participate. Oh, well. Good luck to all the Canadian players–have fun with this! If anyone wants to trade some, I am sure there are lots of players who would love to trade for them (including me, lol).
It would be nice, if one of these times, we could have an explanation as to why the contest is only open to Canadian residents.
Out of curiosity….why is this event just for Canada?
The promotion is probably dictated by Disney…they may have set the rules for Ganz.

There are certain friends that I hear from all of the time (every day during collection events!) There are other friends who I wonder if they are even still playing webkinz. I can’t imagine ever stopping!! Is there such a thing as being too old for Webkinz? LOL
They’ll just rename the prizes and stick them in as a generic prize for everyone in a year.
Thankfully true. Didn’t even take that long for the Dory porthole cookies, as I recall, and now we’re currently getting more of those. Which is fabulous; need. moar.portholes!!!
That’s true, although that’s just food. I’m not sure if they’d do such a big prize as a car.
Well, I doubt they’ll do that. =P The only reason they have these available now is because of Cars 3 is coming out. I don’t think Disney will be making any Cars 4 movie for a while and who knows if Webkinz would even do an event for it like they are for this. No, they won’t use this for anything else. It wouldn’t go with any other event and it isn’t a generic prize, since it’s a Lightning McQueen thing. I mean, it’s kind of branded with Disney. Maybe they would put it on a Deluxe or Super Wheel, but I don’t think they’d use it for anything else. (Sorry if this was long and annoying, I just felt the need to explain. xP)
Actually if you look around and do the daily activities, they love to reuse old prizes, especially if they were regional. The Dory cookies are currently balloon pop prizes and ‘ve also seen promo items on the wheel of wishes, Webkinz news hunt and even just the wheel of wow. They just rename it to shark cookie or penguin plush. I predict these will be called red car and such. Maybe not every prize, but the little car toys I guarantee will show up again. The only one I doubt they’ll do the riding car, but the others would be easy to slip into other slots.

There is an explanation. Right now, in Canada, from coast to coast there is a huge promotional going on regarding the Cars 3 sequel release. Canadian Tire is hosting a Coast to coast road trip where a replica Lightning McQueen will be in specific locations from April till the date of release. Beginning in Vancouver and ending in Halifax. Kids (and the young at heart) can get their picture taken with the replica Lightning McQueen when it arrives in or near their location. So, the promotional requirements have already been met and it wouldn’t be so difficult for Ganz to get permission to get in on this one, on Canadian players’ behalf. A lot of what Ganz does has to comply with the rules and regulations of the Canadian Code of Advertising Standards and the CRTC. Sometimes it just is far too expensive and intensive to get permission and we Canadians lose out. ALSO, if Disney/Pixar and Canadian Tire have set rules that it is only Canadian, Ganz has to abide by those rules. If they don’t, the next time there is a US promo, or any other promo they may be outright denied. So, we just be happy that Ganz has given the Canadians more than double the daily clicks so that they can SHARE willingly with their US friends.

Even though I am Canadian I never understood why and thought it wasn’t fair for us when the US had a promo that we couldn’t do and same way when we had one that the US couldn’t take part in. And even though I am Canadian I won’t have a chance to see the replica Lightning McQueen. Unfortunately the Canadian Tire coast to coast road trip doesn’t go from coast to coast. I live in Newfoundland and everything ends in Halifax and seems to just forget about us. I know we are a little hard to get to but we feel the sting of being left out too.
The ‘blue tang’ cookie looks pretty uniquely Dory-looking, and therefore Disney/Pixar-branded. Same for the other two character cookies now known generically as Shark and Octopus — and all three cookies are available again right now. Based on that, there is no genuine reason ganz cannot retread these prizes as Red Car, Yellow Car, Black Car, etc in a few months, and program them onto wheels and/or inside balloons.
