Ganz Fanz: Art Showcase 17

Here at Webkinz HQ, we love seeing your Webkinz artwork! Today’s pieces have all been taken from the Fan Art gallery in the GanzWorld ShareCenter. You can mail us your art or upload your artwork there, too!

Jack told us he loves to draw Webkinz and paste them in his journal!

Check out hannah42302‘s awesome design for a Neon Glow in the Dark Party Room!

Miranda drew a gorgeous Rainbow Unicorn — and an adorable baby one, too!

Shaya loves the idea of an Irish Wolfhound, complete with PSI and PSF!

And RADICAL sent in a cool-looking Webkinz-inspired Husky!

If you want to send in your favorite Webkinz drawings (and maybe get them posted on the Webkinz Newz front page!), please share them in the Share Center (under “Fan Art”) at the Ganz Parent Club or snail mail them to:

I just searched pictures of an Irish Wolf Hound OHMYGOSH they’re huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Shaya’s Drawing looks just like one :)

    • prprprprp says:

ikr playnowpuppy!! :D BTW, on the subject of drawing, does anyone know if you are supposed to Sharpen Tortillions and Stumps? Becuase my Doublesharpener’s large side fits my Tortillion like a glove, and the smaller end for my pencils also fits my Stumps. And I noticed the tip of my Tortillion was getting flat when I was Blending…please anyone who knows please answer! :)

      • ArtMagician says:

Those are too many technical terms for me, prprprprp. Sorry, I can draw well, but I don’t know what those mean. I know, playnowpuppy, these drawings are great! For some reason my comment isn’t posted on this page again. :/ So I will ask again, can I submit my pictures through the ShareCenter? Thanks!

        • prprprprp says:

That’s ok ArtMagician. :) I can explain what everything means if you want, but it might take a little while… ;) A kind if large comment you know? :)

          • ArtMagician says:

Yeah, don’t bother. :) I don’t want you to waste your time on that. But thanks for understanding! :)

          • playnowpuppy says:

I know prprprp :) I do that kind of art :D All u sharpen is tortillion :) U don’t need to sharpen the stump :) Hope this helps :D and ArtMagician, Tortillion art, is just a kind of art that u use things called stumps and tortillions that are kinds of pens and u can make really realistice art :)

          • prprprprp says:

Ok, thanks! :) But, Tortillions are not pens, they don’t have any ink or ‘lead’ they just blend shading…

          • ArtMagician says:

Oh, cool! Wish I had those. I like realistic and very neat art. I just wish I had the tools to do that…:(

          • prprprprp says:

Don’t worry ArtMagician! You still can! I’ve been doing realistic drawing swith a regular number 2 pencil for a long time, before I got my HB’s and 8b’s and 4h’s, and Putty Rubber and Stumps and Tortillions and stuff! You just have to know the techniques! Like, instead of drawing with a point, when you are adding shadows, try tilting the pencil sideways, so the part that you hold is almost flat against the paper. Or, there are some others, like Smooth (tight circular motions with medium pressure, you can achieve a solid color. You won’t be able to see any pencil marks, just color!) or Crosshatching (layering lines going one direction and then a second set of lines directly on top going in the opposite direction) or Liner (A set of lines grouped together going in one direction, like grass) or Scrumbling! (Randomly made scribble to fill one area, like when making someting like a tumbleweed) Try using these technigues, and your drawings will go far! Oh, and add shading to your drawings, you know, how when a window is open in the daytime, and it’s shining on, say, my lil’ kinz lamb White As Snow. The part of her face that is closest to the light, is the lightest, the area farther away, is darker. you would add that kind of “Shading” to the drawing of my lamb! You see? That can add a lot to the realistic-ness of your drawing! You’ll see the different between just an outline, with no shading or shadows, compared to a drawing with shading and shadows, and smooth! I hope this helps your drawings a bit! And keep on trying with your regular number 2 pencil! It can still work magic on your drawings! :)

          • ArtMagician says:

Wow, thanks prprprprp! That’s a lot to take in. I usually don’t draw portraits, but more like characters I made up (for example, one time I drew the cover of a computer animated film I made up). You see, I sketch with a pencil, then I outline all of it again with a pen to make it sharper and neater, and then I color. But I think I could use your techniques with my colored pencils! Maybe I should try submitting a picture through the ShareCenter…making top ten in the Design A Dog Contest might count for something I guess! Anyway thank you so much for that long comment, prprprprp. You sound like an amazing drawer. Maybe YOU should be the one submitting pictures! Imagine if they got posted on an art showcase! :O

          • playnowpuppy says:

Yeah I love to do art of all kinds :) My Dad just showed me how to do 3-D computer art and stuff :) Drawing on paper is fun but now using a computer or tablet to draw is the newest thing, and is the art of the future :D

          • prprprprp says:

You’re welcome ArtMagician! :D I’m glad I helped! And that would be awesome if one of our drawings was posted! :)

          • prprprprp says:

I don’t want to be rude playnowpuppy, but I am dreading “the art of the future”. I wish we all didn’t have to be so obsessed with technology that even art is only fully appreciated when it is digital! We need a life, you know? Not that webkinz isn’t awesome, I love it, it’s just…idk. I hope America doesn’t become the “land of the dumb and obsessed people with digital lives”, lol. No offense. It’s really cool you know how to do that and all, it’s just…I hope it isn’t the art of the future. I hope it is just another thing people do when they don’t have paints and stuff….don’t get too absorbed in it, ok? :)
