Head to the Farmer’s Market on Webkinz Next!

Have you been to the Farmer’s Market yet? The Farmer’s Market is open every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, from 6am to 11pm KinzTime. You’ll see it as a destination on your Kinzville Map and it will also appear in Kinzville directly while it’s open.

The first time you visit the Farmer’s Market, you’ll receive a Farmer’s Plot. This will go in your home — more on this later. There are several things to do at the Farmer’s Market! There are three stands to check out, a bouncy castle and a facepainting station.

First up, let’s take a look at Will’s Pantry.

You can buy up to 3 delicious treats for your pet each day. I’m getting hungry just looking at them! Next up is the Seed Stand.

A different selection of growing foods will be available. Some of them are in the W Shop, but take a look — it’s discounted here! There are several new crops to collect, too, but you can only purchase 3 each day the Farmer’s Market is available. Now let’s go to talk to Farmer Will directly!

Farmer Will loves fresh produce, but he’s picky about what he’ll take. He’ll pay a lot more than the W Shop if you’ve got what he wants. You can sell up to 50 of the food that he’s looking for. After selling your goods, it’s time to bounce on the Bouncy Castle!

Whee! You can also head over to the Face Painting station to get a free effect applied to your pet. Right now, it’s a butterfly potion. Click on the chair to get started. It will ask you if you want to apply the potion.

Note that this will override any potion you already have applied, so you might want to wait if you’ve already used one. It will not be added to your dock.

So much fun! Now time to head home and plant my new crops in the Farmer’s Plot.

The Farmer’s Plot goes into your home’s yard and you can plant any of the “ground” crops into it. If it’s in a pot, it doesn’t go in the Farmer’s Plot. Why plant in the Farmer’s Plot? Benefits could include… more produce, longer lasting produce… or competition veggies! Hold on to those for later. In the meantime, you can display them around your house!

So what did you find at the Farmer’s Market today?

The farmer’s market sooooooooooooooooooooooo cool! I really like the new seed packs. My favorite are the strawberries.

The Farmer’s Market is so cool and I absolutely LOVE the butterfly face paint! I think it’s my favorite effect of all.

Lol I likely miss the obvious, but I did find the farmer’s market and loved it, especially the face paint butterflies! I took the farming plot back to my pet’s home and put in the backyard, and I did make a point of buying plants, but found that I couldn’t actually plant the new veggie plants that I bought in the plot. Am I missing something or just being incredibly obtuse, lol? :D

I’m so excited! I had my very first trip to the Farmer’s Market yesterday! I will be placing my new plot and filing it with all kinds of yummy things for my pets! I’m going to LOVE this new feature!

I can’t seem to get 3 plants in a row. I’ll keep messing with it. I love this new farmers market! I can’t wait to fill it up! These critters are always sooo hungry!

When I was first trying to put my plants in the farmer’s plot, I had Advanced Editing on and I found it impossible to get the plants next to each other. It was much easier when I turned Advanced Editing off. Maybe try turning it off when you’re trying to plant the plants. You can always turn it back on after you’re done :)

I have a question, if there are any Nexties who would be willing to give me some advice? I cracked and got Webkinz Next, but I’m having a hard time earning money, especially with the 3 game limit for the arcade games. Does anyone have some suggestions???

    • Sally Webkinz says:

A big one is to turn those Arcade Tickets into Game Tokens and keep playing games!

    • Beckinz8 says:

Hi, and welcome to Next @gingerdare! I am only a few months in, so basically a Newbie. Making enough KC does seem to be an on-going problem for many players. Take Sally’s suggestion and use the Arcade Tickets that you earn (it doesn’t take long to build up tons!) to buy more game tokens to get more plays of your favorite games. A game that has a good payout of KC is Jumbleberry Blast on “Challenging” level. I just started another Next account to link to my secondary Classic account, and one of the best pieces of advice that I have is patience. Wait to do some of the challenges on the left side of your screen until you have built up more KC (like adding and decorating a second room). I have already sold some of the furniture that came with my starter room, because it was not my taste, and I will replace it later when I have more KC. Collect EVERY thing that the game is giving away for free, and if you don’t want it or need it (food!), sell it back to the Wshop. Farming is a great way to get both food and stuff to sell, but again, it takes patience to wait for the stuff to grow. I am currently holding onto all my veggies in hopes of selling them to Farmer Will at the Farmer’s Market because he pays more. I know that some players jump right in and purchase diamonds, but if you don’t have the ability to do that, or that’s just not your style, then you have to be willing to play the long game. Good luck and I hope that you stick with it and that I will see you around in Next!

Thank you Sally and @Beckinz8!! I’m going to take your advice and try the game tokens. I don’t have many vegetables right now, but I’ll give that a try as well.

I sent a letter to Podkinz about selling, or giving, our food to a market or food bank and they thought it was a cool idea. Too bad they made it for Webkinz Next. I really hope they can find a way to bring some form of this feature to Webkinz (Classic) in the near future. (I am looking for a Next player that would be willing to be my friend and help me out from time to time. Please add me: ID Katz1259) Thanks!

    • gingerdare says:

I’d love too. I just added Webkinz Next this week, so I’m still pretty new at it, but I’d be more than happy to help where I can. Username gingerdare.

There are limitations to what they can do on classic. You can sell your stuff to Wshop. I do it often. It’s tedious but achievable. Webkinz Next is so great because the Ganz team can do on Next what is only a dream on Classic. Sparky gives bonus points if you can beat his score in the arcade!

    • Beckinz8 says:

Hi @Katz1259! I am only a few months in on Next but, I will be happy to send Next items your way! We are already friends in Classic. My UN ends in 8.

  8. KarenaJ says:

Absolutely LOVE this new feature. I will definitely be playing on Next more often. More games & now this as well as the moving feature!? I still need to check out the Curio Shop.

Webkinz Next Question: the “Learn to Grow” challenge seems to be stuck on “Come back tomorrow to see your plants grow.” I have it on multiple accounts, and after harvesting, the task remains unchecked across all accounts.

    • Sally Webkinz says:

Sounds like you have an old version of the task. It was originally to harvest a plant after four days. If you can harvest something, give that a try. If you have harvested already, please contact webkinzsupport@ganz.com so they can fix it for you.

      • Sonari says:

Thank you, Sally. I’ll give all the accounts one more round of harvest to see if it triggers, if not I’ll contact. Oh – btw – I LOVE that when you move the plot, all the plants (already planted in the plot) go with it!! Very smart!

        • phillatte says:

I actually have the same issue , it is stuck

          • Sonari says:

Mine was fixed as of today across all accounts. It can’t only have been waiting for a certain number of growing days, because the accounts were not all started (and started plants growing) at the same time, yet bam! Today, all of them had gotten that check mark. Glad it’s accomplished- however it happened. =)

    • Beckinz8 says:

Hi @Sonari! I went back the next day, and literally ran over my plants (not recommended irl! LOL!) and it checked off that part of the challenge for me. Not sure if that’s what did it, or if a glitch was fixed, but it’s worth a shot! Happy gardening!

      • Sonari says:

Yes hehe, plants in rl aren’t too keen on foot traffic. I got the achieve today on all accounts right when each one logged in. They planted on different days, so I’m not sure what happened, but I’m happy!

  10. Sonari says:

Love this so much! Adorable idea and too much fun to visit! I did wonder if there’s a way to get more than one plot? I don’t see how, unless I just missed it somewhere. In any case, this is wonderful!
