In the summer of 2010 we launched the Mazin’ Hamsters line of plush and section within Webkinz World. Since then, players have enjoyed building and exploring mazes, participating in daily activities and winning prizes. Mazin’ Hamsters can also be dressed, fed and played with like any other Webkinz pet.
Recently more and more players have been unable to access Mazin’ Hamsters. The Mazin’ Hamster section requires the use of the Unity Web Player. Unfortunately this plug-in is no longer supported by browsers such as Chrome, Firefox and Safari, blocking access. As a result we regret to inform you that we will be closing the Mazin’ Hamsters section of Webkinz World on September 9th, 2015.
On August 19th, we will remove the Mazin’ Hamsters button from the Things to Do menu, but players will still be able to access the section through the building on the Map of Kinzville. On September 9th, it will be closed for good and will no longer be accessible.
Mazin’ Hamster owners will continue to be able to play with their hamsters in their pet’s room and clubhouse.
If you have points to spend in Mazin’ Hamsters, we recommend that you get all of your prizes before the section closes, as you will not have access to those points after it is closed.
Finally, if you haven’t done so already, any Mazin’ Hamster code can be registered in Amazing World, whether or not it was used in Webkinz World.

Mazin’ Hamsters has now been removed from Webkinz World. Remember that entering a MAZIN’ Hamster Feature Code at the Code Shop will still add the hamster to your Webkinz World account. You can play with hamsters in your pet’s room just like any other Webkinz pet! You can also play with your hamster in Amazing World, a 3D game from the creators of Webkinz! I haven’t been on Webkinz for a real longtime but I dug up my account in desperate search of the Mazin Hamsters Lagoon only to find Mazin Hamsters shut down. If anyone could find me a mp3 of the audio from the Lagoon that would make my entire year. I had finally remembered where the music was from, but I can’t get to it.
I know this post is late. That’s what happens when you are a teacher and “back to school” time rolls around! I am so utterly disappointed. I loved Mazin’ Hamsters so much. It was one of my favorite aspects of Webkinz. I also honestly have to say that I despise the new Webkinz X nonsense. I have well over 50 Webkinz pets, and it is nearly impossible for me to max out my hearts each day. The game runs so slowly that every little thing takes forever. It’s not even worth it anymore. Imagine that, Ganz. Over 50 pets I have spent my money on (not even counting my Amazing World critters), and when my membership expires I will never be renewing. You have taken all the fun out of it for me (especially with this Mazin’ Hamsters news), and it is time for me to move on! How sad… :(
Imagine the horror of little me, with over 350+ pets (collected over 6 years of playing). I like the hearts, but you shouldnt have to max out every one to get the max of every day. Maybe depending on how many pets you have you would have to use maybe 5 or 10 pets with the care system, because all the old ones are all just collecting dust for me. They’re probably all sick, lol.
Same here! I’ve had Webkinz for over 8 years now. I was so upset when Webkinz changed! Almost everything is for deluxe members now. The game runs slow and a lot of stuff is glitched. Webkinz was soo much better a few years ago!
Excactly! My hamsters are all lonley now. They don’t have little balls toplay with. I’m a Deluxe Member, but it’s not a big thing to me. I loved playing Webkinz in 2008 and 7. WEBKINZ NEEDS TO STOP IT! I can’t stand that they took it away from us!

Hi Steve & the Ganz Team. First, thank you for the warning that Mazin’ Hamsters were leaving (sob!). We didn’t see the news until August when the kids got back on Webkinz, and it took 3 weeks until we could FINALLY get access back (again, thank you for your step-by-step directions, although it took much patience, because the site kept crashing). But we finally were able to play one last time with the Hamsters, enjoy the music, watch the Hamsters rub their paws together eagerly at KeyCraze and spend our Moolah. So thank you for the opportunity before you pulled the plug. We were a bit bummed that when the site crashed in the middle of Moolah Mountain, that we were prevented from another try until the next day, and the boys were really bummed to be given “useless” maze items in the gift grab, but we all tried to be positive about the fact we could make the Hamsters “fly”, jump and do mid-air somersaults. So while we’re really bummed about the end of Hamsters, we appreciate you trying to help us gain access one last time, and explaining why it has to go. So long Hamsters! We hope you enjoy your Moolah, in the digital never-never land of deleted programs.
If possible, our wish list is: 1) to see Spooky Hamster’s Punkin’ Hat on is head in Webkinz World (same for Patty & Nick’s special hats); 2) to be able to purchase WITH KINZCASH wallpaper and flooring that had the hamster ball designs; and 3) to play a special arcade game patterned after Moolah Mountain. Thank you for considering our requests. Please let us know if any of the Ganz team think any of these are remotely possible.

Hi! I haven’t been able to use my points in Mazin Hamsters. Is there any way to bring Mazin Hamsters back? Would it work as a part of Amazing World? Mazin Hamsters is/was really amazing, prizes, mazes and all of the hamlet, including the lagoon, castle, mountain, and those areas.
I love playing with Mazin hamster when it first came out, since the the Unity Web Player that’s when I had my old computer. With this new computer still had problems. I was not able to play with my hamster at all right from the beginning. Sad to see it going.
Better late than never to say Goodbye to Amazing Hamsters. I enjoyed the mazes with Peppermint, my Christmas hamster, and collecting prizes. The music was the best. I wish it could be downloaded somewhere. The newer version doesn’t seem the same and I probably won’t bother. Bring back the Hamster world when you can.

Yes. You will still be able to purchase Hamsters and add them to your Webkinz Account. You just won’t be able to access the Mazin’ Hamsters section.
Ganz..you need to find a way to add this feature back in ..and soon…we love it!!
