In the summer of 2010 we launched the Mazin’ Hamsters line of plush and section within Webkinz World. Since then, players have enjoyed building and exploring mazes, participating in daily activities and winning prizes. Mazin’ Hamsters can also be dressed, fed and played with like any other Webkinz pet.
Recently more and more players have been unable to access Mazin’ Hamsters. The Mazin’ Hamster section requires the use of the Unity Web Player. Unfortunately this plug-in is no longer supported by browsers such as Chrome, Firefox and Safari, blocking access. As a result we regret to inform you that we will be closing the Mazin’ Hamsters section of Webkinz World on September 9th, 2015.
On August 19th, we will remove the Mazin’ Hamsters button from the Things to Do menu, but players will still be able to access the section through the building on the Map of Kinzville. On September 9th, it will be closed for good and will no longer be accessible.
Mazin’ Hamster owners will continue to be able to play with their hamsters in their pet’s room and clubhouse.
If you have points to spend in Mazin’ Hamsters, we recommend that you get all of your prizes before the section closes, as you will not have access to those points after it is closed.
Finally, if you haven’t done so already, any Mazin’ Hamster code can be registered in Amazing World, whether or not it was used in Webkinz World.

Mazin’ Hamsters has now been removed from Webkinz World. Remember that entering a MAZIN’ Hamster Feature Code at the Code Shop will still add the hamster to your Webkinz World account. You can play with hamsters in your pet’s room just like any other Webkinz pet! You can also play with your hamster in Amazing World, a 3D game from the creators of Webkinz! Please, please, PLEASE fix this! I LOVED ‘Mazin Hamsters and that’s one of the main reasons why I’d play webkinz! I almost cried when you took it away! Please fix it, I garuntee more people will play webkinz if you do!
Yeah, me too! I really missed Amazing Hamsters a lot. I think they replaced it with Amazing World. That way you can enter your hamsters code there and still have fun! But yeah, I miss ‘Mazin Hamsters too! You’re not the only one who misses it! If you go to your Map Of Kinzville in Webkinz World, and you put the Mazin’ Hamsters building on your grass there and click it, this will pop up. “Mazin’ Hamsters is no longer available. If you have a Hamster code, it can still be used in the Code Shop to adopt a hamster, or you can use the same code to unlock your hamster on AmazingWorld.com”. That always pops up. I don’t think i’m going to play webkinz anymore, partly because THIS happened. I started to play Mazin’ Hamsters just as they closed… my friend on AW, Rosefuzzbrite, misses it too.. I bet about at least a quarter of webkinz players left because of this. You know how Amazing World doesn’t work on some browsers cause of Unity problems? Well Mazin Hamsters was the same, yet they got rid of Mazin hamsters.. People could just get a compatible browser like for amazing world, but no, you have to close it down cause of a minor problem you can get around.. for getting rid of Mazin Hamsters i bet a lot of people are angry and have quit cause of this.. so bring it back! You would get more players back if you did.. From an upset Mazin Hamsters player, ~Sprinkleistcap (P.S. If Mazin Hamsters doesn’t come back, you just lost another Webkinz player.)
I agree! Probably half of the people who play Webkinz got off because Webkinz shut down the most fun thing about it! But I still probably will play Webkinz. This just makes it less fun for kids.

Dear Ganz, I absolutely loved playing mazin hamsters, it was a big part of my childhood. I would really love and appreciate if you would bring back mazin Hamsters. I personally think that was the funniest part of Webkinz world! I loved the mazes, and I absolutely enjoyed playing in the lagoon with the peaceful music, it was just so much fun! As much as I liked Webkinz world, it will never compare to mazin hamsters. Maybe you could just make a total different website just for mazin hamsters? And then you could use you’re Webkinz account to log into it. I don’t mind how you do it, as long as Mazin hamsters comes back! Thank you
Same here, I played mazin hamsters all the time when I was little! I loved exploring and doing all the daily quests. I loved creating my own mazes and running through them, and I loved the lagoon where you could take the boat down into the river. It was so fun! Mazin hamsters was the best part of webkinz, Ganz please bring it back!
I never heard about this either and I lost all my points. It would have been nice if they had made this announcement more public considering that this is a big deal to the face of Webkinz.
I had never heard of this, so when I tried to access it last week, and I was horrified! Mazin’ Hamsters was the best part of Webkinz… Couldn’t they just fix the plug-in?!
