Once again we had a fantastic response to our pet design contest! So good in fact, that it took us a little longer to select the finalists than we originally anticipated.
Of course it’s always difficult to narrow down the list to just 10 finalists. When looking at your entries, we try to judge not necessarily on artistic skill but on which pets would make a great addition to Webkinz Classic. Having said that, we do want to give a shout out to MMTaffyM who took the extra step of creating a plush version of their pet!
Now that we have made our selections, we want to hear from you! From February 15 to 17, visit the Contest page in Webkinz Newz to cast your vote for your favorite design.
We’ll announce the winning pet on Friday, February 19, 2021!
I love most of the designs, they are so cute! I would like the porcupine, alpaca, capybara, goat, dragon, mole and tapir, please! :-) And wow, there is even a model for the dragon, this is great! Well done everyone.

Thank you! I handsew plush and I made him inspired from the Webkinz Golden Deluxe Dragon and the Webkinz Whimsy Dragon. I always thought that the Golden Dragon would be an interesting design as a plush, and I’ve actually made plush of the Webkinz Griffin and the Webkinz Magical Hippogriff.
I love the wolverine and Tasmanian devil!! (Still sad the tanuki didn’t win last time.. make. A. Webkinz. Tanuki!)

Congratulations to all the finalists! These are all amazing pet ideas and I would love to have one of each – there is so much creativity in our WW community. I huge shout out to MMTaffyM – you took your entry to a whole new level and your hand made Plushie is amazing! However, it seems I can vote for only one, so my vote will have to go to the Capybara. When I was a child (a long, long time ago) I read a delightful book called “Cappyboppy” and I have loved this animal ever since. It was written in 1966 by the famous children’s author, Bill Peet, and his illustrations are just marvelous. It is a true story about how and why his family raised a capybara pet. Please read it, and read all his other books – they are all wonderful stories. Anyway, thanks for all the amazing entries :-)

Yes – they are indeed related to guinea pigs! I have a soft spot for those little cavies. I read in another post that you have created other hand crafted plush pets – I’m sure I can speak for many players that we would love to see them! You have such creative talent and I really do miss the old plush pets. Whenever I see one at the thrift store, I buy it and give it a home :-)
Those are all so cute! I love the alpaca, but I also love the goat, the mole, the dragon… all of them! No matter which one wins, I’m adopting him!
