Congratulations LadyBeauty on yet another feature!!! I’m so very happy your “Island Cottage Vacation” room got posted for everyone to see, including me!! You must have built it more recently because I haven’t seen it before. Very pretty!

Thanks luna101217! This was the second room I did that was inspired by our trip to Mackinac Island two years ago. I put this room together this past winter, then tweaked it a little this spring. The first Mackinac Island room I did soon after we returned and I can’t remember if I showed it to you or not. I included a lot of sites and landmarks including Arch Rock, all the Lilacs in bloom for the Lilac Festival, Skull Cave, a cannon for the Fort and battleground (now a golf course) from the War of 1812, the “Is It You”? Tree from the movie “Somewhere In Time” (complete with my grey Arabian dressed as Elise in 1912 dress and hat), plus my Clydesdale pulling a wagon with my little Persian cat driving. I submitted it a few weeks before I submitted this room. Both rooms are my special vacation rooms that I like to visit to get away from it all!! ♪♫LadyBeauty♪♫

Great selection of rooms. Congrats to all the designers. The opposite neighbours reminds me of ‘The Addams Family”. Would love to be able to visit the A.T.L.A.N.T.I.S. lab.

    • thepiratemermaid says:

aww thank you!! It does feel like the Adams family lolll

    • mypaquita says:

Thank you very much, I would love to visit the A.T.L.A.N.T.I.S. lab as well, I actually added something after I submitted the photo because I realized there was a vital item missing; so now the room includes a First Aid Kit, LOL.

Love the opposite neighbors one, I like doing rooms that divide into sections like that too, they have a lot of personality

as usual all great designs from such talent….I am headed to that Island cottage for vacation ….love it!

    • LadyBeauty says:

Thank-you. I was inspired by some of the big Victorian Houses and gardens when I was on vacation at Mackinac Island. I too want to stay in that Island Cottage and gaze out at the Great Lake with a good book in hand! To quote Anne Shirley, There is lots of “scope for the imagination”. ♪♫LadyBeauty♪♫

Oooooo… Mackinac Island! Is the butterfly exhibit still there? Did you get a chance to take a horse and buggy ride, or ride a tandem bike around the island? There’s a shop with the best hand-dipped ice cream! I have never stayed in the Grand Hotel, but I have always wanted to. My mom is from northern Michigan, so for us it was a combo vacation/visit-with-family trip. :)

        • LadyBeauty says:

The Butterfly exhibit is still there. We were there for our wedding anniversary (a couple years ago) which also always happens to be at the same time as the Lilac Festival. For me that is my favorite time to be there as Lilacs and Roses are my favorite flowers. We did go for a private carriage ride on our anniversary which was part of our package deal (Romantic Honeymoon / Anniversary Getaway) at the Grand Hotel. I sent in a room design several weeks before I sent this one that is actually a Mackinac Island montage where I included Arch Rock, Skull Cave, the “Is It You Tree” from the movie “Somewhere In Time, a cannon for the Fort and 1812 Battle Field (now a golf course with cannon still in place), and the Lilacs in full bloom, as well as my Clydesdale pulling a wagon with passenger aboard. And yes we did find the shop with the best hand dipped ice cream, and we also had some of the famous Mackinac fudge. Now I’ve gone and done it!!! I want to go back to Mackinac Island!!! ♪♫LadyBeauty♪♫

Really nice room again Lady Beauty. I thoroughly enjoyed viewing it. It was nice reading more about it too. You have some nice talent there!

      • KSC says:

Hi LadyBeauty! Your “Island Cottage Vacation” design is so serene!

  10. Wysteria says:

Congratulations on your room being featured, Lap! I had to look at it for a while, it’s so interesting! By far one of my favorites, I had no idea you were so talented! I hope to see more of your work in the future! <3 -Vanillabunnya

    • mypaquita says:

Thank you Vanilla. I don’t consider myself “talented”, I just get a bug in my brain that won’t let go until I create a room as best I can. I also hope that more of my rooms get shown in the future, and I would love to see some of your rooms as well. –Lapaquita
