For those in Webkinz World that celebrate Hanukkah during the holiday season, there’s a new Wooden Menorah you can pick up at the WShop throughout the month of December.
This year, Hanukkah runs from the evening of December 12th to December 20th. Each night, one of the candles on the Menorah will light until all the branches are lit on the final night.
In addition to the new Wooden Menorah, you will also find the Glass Menorah and the Brass Menorah returning to the WShop during this December.
What traditions do YOU have over the holiday season? Let us know in the comments below.
I love the menorahs — I have quite a collection. Hanukkah is wonderful!
Thanks I really like Brass Menorah. Every year we decorate our yard and house with a bunch of lights, and every year we add more. So, when I was little we had a few, but now it has really added up. Also every year I decorate and make a gingerbread house, always new ideas every year as I grow up. Decorating the tree. My parents do a candy cane countdown all December for my brother and me, which is a big candy cane ( not edible unless you eat cotton ) with mini candy canes on each day ( 1-24) through Christmas eve. So every other day we get a surprise little treat ( plus the mini candy cane ), It is awesome. And on Christmas Eve we decorate and make cookies for Santa, and also treats for the reindeer, then we go light looking and read a Christmas story before we go to bed. We make treats for our street/ Neighbors. And lots of Christmas sweaters all month.
And also donate toys and clothes for children who don’t get much for Christmas.
And lots of Christmas movies.
Sweet simplistic design; well done Design Team!!! Just bought one; and I really love it!
Looking forward to adding this menorah to my collection – Thanks!
My search skills are apparently lacking because I looked for the new menorah in the WShop and couldn’t find it. Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thank you!
Never mind! I found it in the ‘New and Promo’ section. Sorry!
While I don’t celebrate it, I appreciate that Ganz provides things for every culture or player!
I need to stock up on menorahs as my Webkinz family has grown by leaps and bounds this past year – where in the W Shop are they available? I have three from past festivals, but cannot recall where in the Shop I bought them. Many thanks to the Webkinz community for being inclusive of your Jewish members, too!
Hi sidknee23——you can find that gorgeous menorah in the “New and Promo” section of the W-Shop. Enjoy, and happy holidays!
I bought mine in the “New and Promos” section on the 3rd page :D
I don’t celebrate Hanukkah but these are really cool. :)
yeah neither do i, but Happy Hanukkah to all my Jewish friends!
these menorahs are really cool!
i want to get one :)
Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a Chanukkah event room in the Clubhouse for the eight days of Chanukkah every year? There could be a small gift to collect each day (such as a themes food item like potato latkes or dreidles), leading to a large cumulative prize on the last day? (similar to the trick-or-treating event) Or there could be a Chanukka room theme in the Wshop with themed furniture and the prizes from the event could be matching items that aren’t available to purchase! The grand prize could be something cool like a giant spinning dreidle that your pet can sit on? I think that Chanukka is celbrated widely enough that a lot of people would want to participate in the event. And it would be a great opportunity for those who celebrate Christmas to learn what some of the traditional foods, games, etc. are associated with Chanukkah!
Yay!! Wonderful ideas, obvsaprincess! I suggested similar things a couple of years ago. I would love to see an interactive dreidel, that would open a window to a multi-player dreidel game. The winner could receive virtual gelt for their account. This could either be food or decorative, to be placed in the room. I would love to see WW branching out with inclusiveness. Happy Holidays one and all! (And especially happy St. Nicholas’ Day today to all of our friends from the Netherlands!)
I would love that so much!!
I’m not Jewish but I think that is a wonderful idea. The Dreidel Song and Dreidel Game are always a huge hit and among the most utilized learning activities in my music room every year along with all of my Nutcracker Ballet themed learning activities. Over the years I have taught the song and game to hundreds of children, Jewish and non Jewish children alike. ♪♫LadyBeauty♪♫
I love all these ideas!!! And the shout-out to our friends in The Netherlands on Sinterklaas!!! I have many friends over there celebrating today! Nice to see an international flair here at Webkinz!
I love this idea, obvsaprincess – I hope one day it happens!! We already have Ms Birdy’s Countdown to Christmas (which is my favourite Webkinz event!), so I think adding a Hanukkah event room in the Clubhouse for the eight days of Hanukkah would be loads of fun!!
obvsaprincess, that would be AWESOME! I don’t personally celebrate Chanukkah, but one of pets would love a roomtheme like this. I love your idea of the giant spinning dreidle that your pet can sit on. the clubhouse event you suggested sounds fun to. You have great ideas. I hope GANZ will design them. For Wshop! And not only for Deluxe.
Fantastic idea, obvsaprincess!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it! Perhaps the Ganz team will consider that for the 2018 holiday season.
Thats a great idea! I would love that room
that’s all we get? One new menorah? What about dreidels, gelt, jelly doughnuts, potato latkes? Hanukkah is about more than a menorah!!!
I agree with you, what are we chop liver LOL
Ayye, I couldn’t agree more. Sadly, it seems like any ideas thrown out for a Hanukkah theme are denied or not taken to consideration.
It’s more than those that celebrate Kwanzaa got.
I agree, more would be nice, but I am also VERY grateful to have a game that recognizes the holiday. Last year there was a contest and I saw a few rooms that took other items to make their own Chanukah themed rooms. They were great. Again, I’d love to see more, but am VERY happy for what we get. I do wish I had all the Menorahs though. ;)
They used to put real candles on Christmas trees before there were lights. Talk about dangerous!!! Happy Holidays everyone!!!
ikr? Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!
