Chapter 8 – Back to Work
Plumpy and Wiggles had a wonderful Christmas. Plumpy apologized for yelling at Wiggles – but he had already forgiven her. That’s what best friends are for, after all. They celebrated the day with all of their friends and family by their sides. It was a truly joyful and happy time. Every now and then, Plumpy’s thoughts would drift to SantaKinz. She couldn’t help but wonder if he had kept the Christmas spirit he had lost and then found. When Plumpy arrived back at work, all thoughts of her Christmas break left her mind. Her ‘In’ box was FULL of letters. She waded through them, one after the other, giving the best advice she could. When she finally reached the last note, it was the end of the day – time to go home.
“Ah, one more,” Plumpy said, opening the envelope slowly. Inside was a letter. In careful blue handwriting were the words, “Thank you, Plumpy, for helping me find the Christmas spirit. If I ever lose mine again, I know who to ask for advice. Be sure to keep the Christmas spirit alive all year round. See you next year! Love, SantaKinz.”
Plumpy put on her jacket, stuffed the note in her pocket and smiled at everyone she passed on her way home.
