RANDOM QUESTION- I recently purchased a pet and was stuck between two names lol. I picked one and completed the adoption, but then realized that I really wanted the other name! I know that tech support probably won’t change it because it’s not technically something wrong with the game, but do you think that maybe they will? Has tech support ever changed the name of a pet before? I know this is so little when people have real problems with their accounts. I just wanted to know I tried. So, if anyone has had something like this fixed before, please comment! Thanks! :) Means a lot!
This is why I really wish there was a way to change our pet names ourselves. I have several misspelled names or just old pet names I want to change. I can think of a way that would work to avoid players abusing the feature by making it so that once you change a name, the pet name changing feature for that pet is locked for thirty days or more. I understand it would be a different story to change a pet’s gender in Classic. But that never really mattered as it doesn’t affect the pet at all except it being on their adoption certificate. Plus, I know Classic is built with a very old code that messing with it too much could make the entire system crumble. Plus, the financial side of the project as well could be an issue. However, I would, as would other players, really appreciate this feature implemented in the game someday.
The only pet error i made was the gender which sosotto was supposed to be a girl, not a boy, other that i’m happy for every pet i named.
I’ve been saying this for years! Never got a reply from them. Eventually I gave up and stopped asking :( I wondered too if maybe it was a technological obstacle but I wish they’d just come out and say that then instead of leaving us hoping it might be possible one day. It really would be so helpful to so many people. I love that idea of locking it for 30 days so they’re not overedited.
I only have one pet on Classic on my main account that I misnamed. I just refer to her by the other name in my mind. The only problem comes when I go looking for her in her room, as that is labeled with her given name. When I look at my house map, I often have that “Oh yeah.” moment where I remember that that different name is actually the pet that I am looking for, if that makes sense. I would love the opportunity to rename her.
