Room Design Awards: Meet The Finalists!

Hey guys! It’s me, Michael Webkinz, here to present the finalists for our 9th ever Webkinz Room Design Awards! In the past, we have always had 10 finalists, but for the first time ever I have decided to choose 20 finalists. It’s always hard to narrow it down, so this made it a little easier :)

Players will be able to vote for their favorite design, right here on Webkinz Newz from Friday, April 20th, to Sunday, April 22nd. 4 winners will each be awarded a Room Design Trophy. The winners will be announced on Monday afternoon, April 23rd… Good luck!

Congratulations to all 20 finalists! Here they are (in no particular order):

Now it’s time to vote! Click on the VOTE NOW button to pick your favorite room design. Results will be posted Monday afternoon, April 23rd:

Finalists: you all did a great job and will each be sent a code for a Webkinz Day Loot Bag. I will send you an email this week with the code, so please check the email account you used to send in your designs.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, 4 finalists will be awarded a Room Design Trophy. A huge thanks to expert room designer Autumn, who I invited to be a special guest judge for this Room Design Awards!

Here’s how the winners will be chosen:

  • The 1st winner will be decided by a vote right here on Webkinz Newz. On Friday April 20th, players can vote for their favorite design and the winner will be awarded the trophy.
  • The 2nd winner will be chosen by the Webkinz Creative Team
  • The 3rd winner will be chosen by special guest judge Autumn
  • The 4th and final winner will be chosen by me, Michael Webkinz!

Autumn is a previous Room Design Award winner. I also featured one of Autumn’s designs in a special Let’s Build Video. Autumn truly has a great eye and is one of the most talented room designers I have ever featured on Webkinz Newz. Congratulations to all the finalists… and good luck!

I’m not really thrilled with the idea of a Webkinz player being a guest judge. I just don’t like when games do that kind of thing. Great rooms by all though. This will be tough to vote on. There’s a lot of creativity in this batch.

All of the rooms are A-MAZING but my personal favorites are indoor pool and spring cottage room. They all are so creative and I wish I could think of something like these!!

Wow I feel so honored being one of the finalists. The idea of the Practice Landing Strip for the Reindeer Calf, came to mind while we were all going to the park daily to help each other teach our new calf how to fly. I thought it fit perfectly to help the calf learn..Practice Practice Practice. I’m always impressed with all of the designs and creativity, but, this is a great bunch of finalists. And I think that it is wonderful that Autumn is being recognized for all of her great designs and will be the guest judge.

I think I have my choices narrowed down to four, so I’m getting there! On Friday, if I need to pick just one, that is going to be really tough! I don’t know how the judges do it. Best of luck all of you brave and bold designers!

AH, all of these are just amazing, how will we vote for a favorite?! “Irish castle” by Artsywebkinz reminds me of Fowl Manor of the Artemis Fowl books. “Spring Cottage Room” by Arbor is just resplendent! “Kinzville Quilt Shop” by Mypaws is so cozy and has many cute details!

Congratulations to everyone whose room made it to the finals! Special congratulations to Arbor ♥ Each one is beautifully designed – You’re all very talented! And congratulations on your debut as special guest judge, Autumn! It is a well-deserved honour; your rooms never cease to amaze me! This is going to be a close contest – Enjoy your Webkinz Day Loot Bag and good luck :o)

I still like TreeHuggerJess’ princesses on ice. You can see each Disney Princess represented, here. Next to that is Bullseyejingles’ Optometrist’s office. Such a clever use of items to create a one of a kind room, DeeGram’s Baby Rudolph’s Landing strip brings me back to a fond memory of this past Christmas. Awesome use of the dozen gnomes we got. Arbor’s room is such a whimsical soft dreamlike room. It’s going to be a hard won vote and I do hope that at least one of the rooms that doesn’t rely heavily on eStore wins a trophy. Not everyone can afford eStore and I’d hope that Bias wouldn’t undermine others’ attempts to share their rooms or hopes of winning a design trophy.

Wow. I can narrow it down to: Indoor Pool, Dorm Room, Fred Rover’s Apartment, Gem’z Room, Chilly Sitting Room, Dogs Playing Poker, the quilt shop, teen’s room, skating room, New Year’s Eve Party, & Royal Nutcracker Performance. But that’s still almost a dozen. xD

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!! This is AMAZING to see thanks so much! Good luck to everyone :D

Your designs are always so well thought out without overuse of items Furretts! Your use of readily available items makes it a room anyone could make without additional cost. You just have to keep your eye on Arte for those terrific blue chairs from the space theme. Also, you have to achieve the 150000 Family score to get the water slide, so it kind of gives newer people a reachable goal, too. It’s a Fun room, great to hold in-house parties in, I think. Congratulations on being chosen as a finalist.
