It’s a Season of Celebration! On April 29, 2025, Webkinz Classic turns 20 and Next celebrates this amazing milestone with a fun new season, coming soon!
Every season offers amazing free prizes available to all players! The 20 Years of Fun Season conjures up nostalgic memories with prizes like an Arte Fact Bobblehead, Dr. Quack’s Jacket. Festive pieces celebrating the evolution of Webkinz include a Magic W Rug, Prototype Desk, Magic W Dress and Magic W Wardrobe, while fun Fireworks Wall Art will add a celebratory effect to your pet’s home!
If you’d like to collect even more wonderful Webkinz memories, you can purchase the Season Pass. Season Pass holders can collect beautiful furniture pieces including Anniversary Flooring, an Anniversary Toy Box and Sofa! There are more Magic W pieces to collect at the Season Pass level too, like a Flowerbed, Fence, as well as a fabulous Year 20 Bed! Hang a piece of Webkinz history on the wall with a unique Kinzville Hosts Portrait!
Show off your plush collection with a cute Plushie Collector Corner! This adorable display was actually designed by player Sugardust as a PSI for their Megafan Mustelid, a finalist in our Pet Design contest. We loved the item so much we chose to add it to Next as part of this special season!
Season Pass holders can also collect cool clothing for their pets. There is an Anniversary Gown, a Magic W Backpack, a Twenty Year Tiara, and a Year 20 Necklace!
There are graphic elements to collect including emojis and avatars, and all players have a chance to collect in-game currencies like KinzCash, School Ribbons, Wish Tokens, and even Diamonds!
Every Season Pass includes an exclusive recipe and the Bits of Magic needed to craft it. This season’s recipe is nostalgic Webkinz Wallpaper.
Season Pass holders can also collect Mystery Capsules, and an amazing grand prize, a Magic W Roller Coaster that seats four pets!

I play both versions and I have to admit, I like Classic best.
did I miss this in the article but when does the season start?
I’ve never tried Next. seems overwhelming to me. am I missing out??
Next is soooo much fun, and this is coming from someone who played Classic since the very beginning. You have more decorating freedom than Classic, such as the ability to move doors anywhere you want or remove them altogether, place things on walls at whatever height or angle you want, and even place more than one item on the wall over or under the other. You can place furniture on angles as well! Sparking babies is REALLY fun too! If you log in every day, you can earn diamonds to purchase virtual pets and eventually spark a baby. There are also diamond packs you can purchase in game to buy pets, spark babies, and purchase premium w shop themes. Our rare themes are transferable to Classic too. A few rare themes in Classic are available in the w shop for kinzcash. Next allows you to drive vehicles around town and you can visit your friends houses. It’s definitely worth a try imo. I know I’m hooked!
Classic and Next are both awesome, but Next has a lot of cool features such as the ability to do everything on mobile that you can on desktop, whereas in Classic you are very limited. Next has a neat search option in the W-Shop and for your dock, and the dock is much more organized too. Gardening is a lot faster on Next, and selling items is a breeze since you don’t have to drag a ton of the same item up one by one. They recently added vacations, and are always adding new stuff. You can earn academy ribbons to buy skills and go mining twice a day instead of just once when you reach the highest level, and even sell items for more kinzcash. Seasons are really fun too. There’s a farmers market three times a week. I play both Classic and Next every day, both are very different but Next has features many of us og Classic players have been asking for for years. It wouldn’t hurt to try it out :)

Love this season. I do like to see more items that are just next but seeing is that this is 20 years of fun season, it kind of makes sense. If players look closely most are already in classic but look different, just do a web search ;)

greetings! no doubt this is a special season! but i just don’t understand the obsession which always shows up in comments about “classic,” when Next is so far superior in decorating potential. Is there some reason i cannot see? (My classic account is overflowing with 1000 rooms & almost that many pets, so getting new items just means finding a place for them ;) Anyway, just my two cents. best to all, k.

It’s because everything about Next looks strange to me, it leaves me with a kind of disturbing feeling. I will never play it for that reason. Classic is cute, the pets, the hosts, the whole appearance of everything. I never see anything from Next and think the word cute. Even the newer plush pets for both games, I don’t care for, they look like every other generic toy now. Classic has a special charm to it, a very unique style that I find far superior.
I so agree. I fell in love with Webkinz because the pets looked like our real animals. Now that has changed.
Well said, I so agree, I have classic accounts that go back to the first year. It’s no fun to have all those great items and rooms and still feel all by yourself when playing. I enjoy the much more interactive features of next. For me it’s much more satisfying.
Mainly it’s the nostalgia and actual art style. Most of us really don’t care that much about the fact that next lets you remove/move doors and that you can place wall items at different heights. I actually find Next decorating frustrating. I can’t move the rooms around, I get glitches a lot where my items disappear (mainly on mobile, but happens on desktop too) I feel like I get a lot more stuff that I like on Classic too. I can pay around $8 for a webkinz code and get a whole year of membership and $15 for 3 months of deluxe which also gives me epoints. I feel like you pay more to get all the benefits of Next. It’s $6-$8 (can’t remember) every 5 weeks for the season pass. It takes forever to even save diamonds to be able to get another pet free, if you can’t afford to buy them. The only aspect that I enjoy about Next, that I really just wish Classic would implement, is being able to visit friends ( and classic use to have this feature) and I am intrigued at the aspect of sparking babies. But that’s the wonderful thing about Webkinz, they kept Classic for all of us to love it so much. They also created Next to draw in newer generations and to change it up for those who didn’t quiet love Classic. The results is two amazing games that a lot of people love and two amazing teams/one company that make it all possible (:
Agreed kaye10! The search feature for the dock alone makes decorating so much easier! Plus advanced editing lets you be more creative when designing rooms on Next.
