Beaver probably
COME ON PEOPLE a “GNAWING ” PET has to be a BEAVER !! The tail is a Beaver like tail but it could be a baby !

I’m pretty sure this is a beaver: the clue reads “nice, gnawing pet”. Beavers gnaw on all sorts of trees. Also, if you look closely at the top right corner, it looks like there are two lines forming an X. And, if I’m not mistaken, I’m pretty sure that beavers have that same marking on their tails. :)
I’m thinking its a beaver!
