With the white between the eyes I was thinking a fox, and they are short. But I’ve never heard of a fox being faithful. Clever? Yes. Crazy? Yes. But never faithful, so now I’m not sure. When I think faithful, I think of dog. Collies have a white blase, but they aren’t short. Maybe a Sheltie.
It makes me think of a horse, but the clue says it’s a short pet, so maybe a Shetland Pony or a Miniture Horse.
