Sneak Peek: Kinzville Arena

Are your pets up for the challenge? The Kinzville Arena is a brand new activity coming to Webkinz Next where you compete against other pets for glory, KinzCash, and maybe even win a prize! Score well in four events to earn points. The more points you earn, the higher your ranking, the more the reward!

Once it’s launched, the Kinzville Arena will be available between the Gem Mines and the Photo Booth on Mondays to Fridays from 4pm to 11pm and on weekends from 11am to 11pm, KinzTime.

About 10 minutes before the Kinzville Arena is open, you’ll see a little Starting Soon placard.

When the Kinzville Arena opens, tap on it to join a group. Once your group has 4 players, the games will begin!

The first event is Swimming.

Make sure you tap on either side of the screen — hit the green areas to go faster. When you get to the end of the pool, you’ll need to tap on the button when the circles overlap to flip and go back the other way. The pet that finishes the course first wins!

The second event is Swinging.

Tap the button when your pet is at the top of its arc on BOTH sides of the swing. So when your pet swings back, tap at the highest point. When you pet swings forward, tap at the highest point. Do this well to push your pet faster. The first pet to go full 360 wins!

The third event is Jumping.

Tap the buttons or use the keys on your keyboard to hop from one column to another, collecting stars and earning points. Big stars are worth more than small stars. Collect the most points in the time available to win! Two pets can’t occupy the same spot, so if the other person is quicker, they’ll get the star first!

The final event is Hurdles.

Tap the buttons to adjust your speed and jump over the hurdles. The first to reach the end wins.

Your overall score across all four events will be tallied to determine the final rankings. The pet with the highest score gets 1st place, second highest gets 2nd, and third highest gets 3rd. Everyone earns KinzCash, but the top 3 also have a chance to win a special Kinzville Arena prize.

You can compete at the Kinville Arena as many times as you like while it is open, but you can only earn a maximum of 5 bonus prizes per day.

I had a hard time with the jumping to collect stars. My pet just turned in circles and would not jump.

I bet this will be very cute, with some fun prizes, but another competitive game? Really? If this becomes a regular demand in seasons, this might just be my last straw. Playing since 2008, I enjoyed how relaxing Webkinz was. Things like this are not relaxing. I’m all for making things like this as an option, but could you also make the same prizes available say from crafting? Or something nice and calm? Looking to leave stress behind, not add more. I would also love to see a cooperative game someday. That said, I hope those that enjoy this style have a wonderful time.

The arena is challenging to start, but once you get the hang of it, it’s really fun! And very addictive! So to make the rewards for trying your best to win a competition available for everyone to craft would kind of defeat the purpose (; It wouldn’t be fair to those trying for the rewards. Have you tried the arena yet? I know it’s not for everyone, but it can really be fun! If you do try it, think of the first dozen tries as practice lol. Trial and error. Good luck!

LOL If anyone wants to win a medal, play against me. I can already tell these will be fun but I will be terrible at them. :-D

Ooooo… I might just take you up on your offer. I am in the same boat, so we can just battle to see which one of us is doing a little less worse that day. LOL! My main Next UN is Hope Snowflower. I hope to find you in Next!

LOL!! Great comment, @777penguins! I’m terrible at most games, too. And I’m not at all competitive. Love the idea of the Kinzville Arena, though; it looks like a lot of fun for those who enjoy competition, and group participation activities. As usual—well done, Webkinz Team! You guys are the best.

I just want to say a grateful, “Thank you” to all of the Ganz staffers – those of you who brainstorm these creative new ideas, those of you who do the drawings, digital art, and game wizardry to make it all work, and everyone involved in continuing to expand our WW game world – we appreciate you! Your designs and ideas give me the impression that you like to play too, and that’s good. Don’t ever lose that!

This looks like it’s going to be NEXT’s version of the Tournament Arena. I wonder if our Skill cards are going to come into play here?

  9. beerfeet says:

Like the academy in classic. Takes a while to learn but should be fun. I’m looking forward to trying. Thanks for adding something new

DUUUDE YES I love competitions! I’m so excited for this, the Stadium and Tournament Arena are two of my favourite things about Classic–so happy to see this come to Next, too!!
