Special Report – With Sally Webkinz

It’s Sally Webkinz here with all your Thanksgiving news… and, most importantly, here to chat a bit about my favorite topic… FOOD!

This year, Thanksgiving is falling on Thursday, November 23. Be sure to log in to Webkinz World on the 23rd to receive your Thanksgiving Gift — logging in from mobile works, too, if you need to sneak on during dinner! This November is a bit on the quiet side — so rest up, because a busy December is up ahead!

Now, Canadian Thanksgiving was in October, but the Newz team is always up for round 2 of tasty treats! I asked them about their favorite Thanksgiving foods and traditions. Transcript below!

SALLY: So, I gotta ask… is there one food that you simply can’t miss at Thanksgiving? A “It ain’t Thanksgiving unless there’s this food” kind of food?

MANDY: Brussels sprouts, for sure.

SALLY: I.. I was not expecting that, but sure. It’s not my favorite vegetable, but I’ve learned to accept it. What about you, Stephen?

STEPHEN: TURKEY!

SALLY: Ha! Yeah, I guess that’s pretty important. Though some people have things like cornish hens, or turkduckens. What about you, Michael?

MICHAEL: It’s gotta be garlic mashed potatoes.

SALLY: Oh, that does sound good. For me, I have to have stuffing and cranberry sauce. I can eat just a plate of that and be happy. YUM! Speaking of YUM…. dessert! What’s your favorite dessert for Thanksgiving, Mandy? Is it pie?

MANDY: Actually, I like pumpkin cheesecake.

SALLY: Good choice! I love a good cheesecake, myself, and pumpkin is very Thanksgivingy. What about you, Stephen?

STEPHEN: Pumpkin pie, of course.

SALLY: Can’t go wrong with a traditional favorite. Sweet potato is pretty good, too! Hey, Michael — where does your sweet tooth lead you?

MICHAEL: We-ellll, I like blueberry pie best, to be honest.

SALLY: Ooh, nice one. Not as traditional, but still pie. Excellent. For me, I have to have a slice of apple pie… maybe with some cheddar on top… or with ice cream and whipped cream and… and… well, I think I’m getting a little distracted by all this food talk. Mandy, do you have any special traditions for Thanksgiving?

MANDY: We all like to play board games after dinner.

SALLY: That’s great fun! Stephen, anything special for Thanksgiving?

STEPHEN: The most important part of Thanksgiving for me is having dinner with my family.

MICHAEL: Yeah, me, too!

SALLY: Family is very important. I don’t get to see most of my family very often, but I’m happy to say that I’ve made some great friends who have become a second family to me! I guess my biggest Thanksgiving tradition is that I have… two Thanksgivings, sometimes three! I’ll have one Thanksgiving with my in-laws, then another with my friends… and then sometimes, I’ll celebrate American Thanksgiving in November. It’s just too long to wait until December to have a big turkey dinner!

There you have it, folks. What about you? What food can’t you do without at Thanksgiving? What’s your favorite pie or dessert? Do you have any special Thanksgiving traditions? We’d love to hear about them!

Also, what would you like me to report on next? Tell us in the comments below!

OOOHHH!!!! SALLY WEBKINZ! YOU DID ANOTHER REPORT!!!!!! WOW!!!!! I LOVE THANKSGIVING!!!!!! YOU’RE AWESOME! Brussels Sprouts, Turkey, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Pumpkin Cheesecake, Pumpkin Pie, Blueberry Pie(MY FAVORITE!), I LOVE APPLE PIE!, haha, having the meal with my family is awesome. It’s just that….I PUKE OUT PUMPKIN PIE EVERY YEAR! And my older brother once took a video of it and posted it ion Snapchat and sent it to all of his story! :P Webkinz is another family of mine. All of the players have become part of my life. I can’t quit Webkinz because a lot of the players feel like another family to me. Thanksgiving traditions? Err, uhh, yeah, puking out pumpkin pie, playing Webkinz, going out and giving my rabbit food scraps(his cage isn;t big enough!) It’s cool that Canada’s Thanksgiving is in October. Canadians forever! Oh gosh, MY favorite Thanksgiving treat? Apple pie, pumpkin pie, blueberry pie, turkey, mashed potatoes, all of the deserts, CORN CASSEROLE, ALL OF THE DRINKS, and mashed potatoes with frosting on them(THEY’RE GOOD!). Eating is one of my hobbies. :D Wanna know something annoying? MOM BAKES FOOD IN THE MORNING AND I CAN’T TAKE ANYTHING TO EAT WHEN THEY’RE ALL SCENTED SOOO GOOOD! I FEEL LIKE I’M GONNA DIE! And my nephew’s birthday is the day before! Sally, you should do a report about Webkinz Retired pets or the new MyPage. I love the retired ones! And Sally, do you like to sleep with stuffed animals? SOrry if that was embarrassing. I sleep with animals! I have like over 40 stuffed animals and more virtual ones.

    • Sally Webkinz says:

My daughter stole all of my stuffed animals, so I don’t have any left to sleep with :)

    • bubbashuka says:

Um, Whoa, MyLittlePony2010EG13, you went wild over food there! XD Goodness! I love food, but I think you do more, if you eat so much you puke! I still sleep with stuffed animals, and I have soooooooo many! I have a PetNet filled with them, and tons and tons in the attic, too. I bet I have like 100, no lie! I also love pillows. The decorative kind. I have a cat one, a dog one, a heart one, and several more. Yeah, I’m about to be a teen soon, but I think it’s comforting to sleep with them, and I don’t care. :)

      • animalsmatter1 says:

Hi MyLittlePony and babbashuka, I really laughed (in a good way!!) when I read your comments about sleeping with stuffed animals. It’s a pretty safe bet I’m probably older (waaay older) than both of you combined, and I still sleep with stuffed animals! Webkinz, of course!! They are cute, they are cuddly, and they look adorable on my bed. Funnier still, my dog sleeps with Webkinz, too. I’m blessed to have a dog that doesn’t chew anything–(many dogs, do, so it’s usually not safe to leave stuffed animals around dogs)—but my dog isn’t a chewer; he’s just a snuggler, and likes to rest his chin on them, or nudge them around the family room with his snout or paw. It’s pretty cute to watch him play with his Webkinz. Bubbashuka, your stuffed animal and decorative pillow collection sound fantastic. MyLittlePony: it is so sweet that you think of Webkinz players as another family; it is definitely an awesome community for which we can all be thankful.

        • MyLittlePony2010EG13 says:

Haha, nice. I love sleeping with stuffed animals! XD My rabbit is annoyed of them. He likes to nibble them. Aww, thank you! I’m thankful to have online friends that care. There are a lot of things that we all need to be thankful for. :) ♥

        • bubbashuka says:

animalsmatter1, You’re never too old to sleep with stuffies. :) your dog sounds adorable! I have a boxer mix (not sure what kind) named Trouble, but she is NOT trouble. XD She doesn’t sleep with stuffed animals, but she does sleep with me most of the time! Thanks, I love collecting stuffed things apparently, LOL! P.s. I LOVE your username. I watch a youtube channel called ‘the Dodo’ every day, and they show you animal lives DO matter. Some make me cry the way people treat poor animals, but at the end most of them are happy endings! :) I really appreciate what some people do to help animals! When I’m older, I am totally working with animals. (Preferably cats, but any are good!)

      • MyLittlePony2010EG13 says:

Uh, YEAH! Eating is one of my hobbies. I’m happy fruit punch doesn’t make me puke. Me too! XD same, I wonder what they thing of sleeping with their owners… WHOA! AWESOME! I have over 45 pets. Me too! Pillows are comfy! Me too, I don;t want to be one because a lot of teens I know are mean to me in rl. Me neither! I don’t care what anyone thinks about my toys. :D

        • bubbashuka says:

Over 45 pets- WOW! And I thought I had a lot! Are you counting all of your fish? If I did… and our pleco fish… We’d have SOOOOOOOO MANY!

          • MyLittlePony2010EG13 says:

Sorry for the late response, bubbashuka. D: Thanks! I mean Webkinz, not in real life. But in real life we have(had) a lot of pets. I’m including the ones that died, that are still alive(but we moves), and the current one(s) we have now. That’s great!

          • bubbashuka says:

Heh, whoops, sorry! I have like 60 something WEBKINZ pets I think. :) In realy life, though, I have a lot! Fish, bearded dragons, turtle, cats, dog, fish, geckos, fire-bellied toads, and an anole. We used to have 2 adorable and sweet rats, but they died a few months ago. :(

    • puppies4me says:

MyLittlePony2010EG13, Since you shared it, I’m guessing it’s ok to tell you that your pumpkin pie ‘tradition’ made me actually laugh out loud! My granddaughter has a cute black and white rabbit that is trained to stay on a huge rug indoors when my granddaughter is home. Her cage, which is quite ornate with crafts and goodies, will be left open for her, and she is surrounded on the rug by all her toys and tunnels…. She especially loves bananas and different greens my granddaughter grows for her. She is such a pampered bunny. Just like our Webkinz pets! Oh, and btw, the way you described your mom’s cooking made me soo hungry!

      • MyLittlePony2010EG13 says:

Haha, it’s okay! I don’t mind it when people laugh at me for some silly reason. :) Awww! That sounds adorable! I have a rabbit too! He’s a NZ Albino. I really want that cage for my bunny. My past bunny liked bananas, too! My current bunny hates them. He just looks and sniffs them. Aww! I grew my bunny marigolds this year and he loved them! Haha, mine too! I’m hungry right now! My mom is making food right now too. I bet your cooking is good too! :D

  2. webkinz04 says:

Stuffing! Very traditional! But another one is corn casserole!

  3. ilovemoonie says:

I JUST realized they spelled ‘special’ wrong at the top…the things that escape my notice XD

  4. kat6401 says:

    Applesause Cake !

  5. kaye10 says:

i loved this story, and learning about Canadian Thanksgiving–thanks for recognizing the American one for us…sweet! i rarely weigh in on food issues (real food that is; i love collecting Webkinz food, however!) but your discussion made me think…that what i like is getting just a taste of lots of foods together, but i pick green bean casserole topped with lots of french-fried onions & that touch of cranberry sauce somewhere on the side… enjoy everyone :) -k.

  6. pinkiecupcake says:

For me, it can’t be Thanksgiving without my aunt’s homemade rolls at one Thanksgiving and King’s Hawaiian Rolls at another.

  7. babyssss says:

I was wondering where has the 12 Days Of Christmas gone? I can’t find it anywhere? Maybe this might be tied into the other problems earlier today?

  8. puppies4me says:

Great Rreport Sally! so fun to hear about holiday traditions of the Webkinz News Team members. I suggested that after your last report, so I got my wish! So, Mandy, brussells sprouts? Yay! My Granddaughter and I love brussells sprouts. And aren’t those brussells sprouts in the little blue basket dispensed from the Farm Fresh Roadside Stand? Did you have input on that choice as one of the 4 veggie items from that dispenser? Actually, that is why I have to get the Farm Fresh Roadside stand. Such clever veggie items! I am very impressed with it. Anyway…. Sally, your room is so cute. I’ve never seen the table and chairs set. Will it be for sale? Or can you win pieces? I love the Thanksgiving table setting. It’s adorable. (Looks yummy too, lol!) Thank you for your report, Sally, and thank you to Mandy, Michael and Steve for your participation. >{^;^}<

    • dogfish says:

Hi Puppies, the stand likes to keep you waiting on the sprouts, LOL none so far. I love those roasted. Those chairs are estore , and the table is a PSI. There is also a table with a white table cloth. I sent another FR DF

      • puppies4me says:

Thanks dogfish. I wouldn’t have guessed the table is a psi. You said you sent another FR. I saw a FR from a user name i’m not familiar with. Is that from you?

        • dogfish says:

Hi, Puppies, yes I have my accts divided onto categories, Valentine, St Pat, Xmas, Halloween, Rares, Clothing,Promo and Fall Items. It helps a bit when hunting down certain things. I think you can replace the chairs with the Stately Dining Chairs, they are similar in size and color. Happy Decorating, DF

          • puppies4me says:

Hi dogfish, I’m glad to know that FR was from you. I’m amazed at how organized you are! I need to stay on my toes better. Upon putting your gifts in my room and checking Arte’s report again, I discovered I’m still missing a piece of that theme. But that’s OK! It will motivate me to check Arte more often and maybe step out of my comfort zone, lol, to try that forum you mentioned. I’m glad you told me about it. I think I do have a couple Stately Dining Chairs (somewhere, ahem). Thanks for the clever suggestion. >{^;^}<

  9. obie987 says:

I have to agree with Mandy Brussel Sprouts is one of my favorite Thanksgiving foods and Pumpkin pie for deserts, no spices and whole milk not canned, I think my Mum didn’t have the right ingredients one year and we liked it that way.

  10. Katz1259 says:

Great report Sally and I love all the answers!! Sally I may have to print out your report and keep it in my purse for holidays. Every year when we have apple pie at our family gatherings I ask for cheddar to put on it and the whole family gangs up on me. They say “You are the only person/weirdo in the whole world that would eat apple pie with cheddar cheese” …. now it’s nice to know I’m not!! This was something my mother used to do and I guess I just picked up the tradition from her… but no one else remembers that and apparently no one else has ever heard of it..so thanks for being a fellow “weirdo” Sally. Enjoy your apple pie with cheddar!!!!

    • puppies4me says:

Katz1259, you’re comment hit home for me. Sign me up as a “weirdo” also. My childhood family always had cheddar cheese with our apple pie. YUM! But I didn’t know anyone else did that, until now. Thank you for your comment. You’re so funny!

    • MWolfL says:

I guess they don’t know that cheddar cheese tastes good with apples in general. My parents and I get these apple bars at Trader Joes often, and I love making a little sandwich out of them by putting them between two slices of cheddar cheese. Got the idea from dad, who also likes microwaving the whole thing so that the cheese melts. I enjoy it that way too, but having it cold is better when you want a quick snack.

      • Katz1259 says:

I guess not and they will never know because they refuse to try it. The apple bars sound yummy but we don’t have a Trader Joe’s anywhere near me…maybe I will have to find a recipe to make some. I also like to microwave to melt the cheese sometimes, depends on my mood at the time…or how impatient I am to eat it. hahaha Thanks to you and puppies4me for letting me know there are more of us wonderful connoisseurs out there! *hugs*
