Hello Webkinz Newz readers, Michael Webkinz here with a special report!
When we add a new room theme to the W-Shop, we like to ask for your help with deciding which one to add. The first time we allowed players to choose a new room theme was in 2014. Players had 5 choices to pick from: Sweets & Treats, Plaid, Clothing Store, Toadstool and Lemon Drop. We released a concept drawing of each theme and left it to you to choose by holding a vote, right here on Webkinz Newz.
Players picked the Toadstool theme as their favorite, and it was added to the W-
Shop later that year.
The next theme we released was the Sweet 16 room theme. Once again this was decided by a vote on Webkinz Newz:
Then, we added the hotel theme to the W-Shop. This theme included a variety of items that you could use to build a hotel lobby and guest rooms. We actually released Haunted Hotel items later that year as Halloween prizes, which players could use to “hauntify” their hotels. Spooky!
We also allowed players to vote for our seasonal Halloween and Christmas room themes but the last permanent theme that was added to the W-Shop was the Party Time room theme. This theme was actually suggested by a fan and was picked by players by another vote on Webkinz Newz:
Soon it will be time to add another room theme to the W-Shop which will, once again, be determined by a vote right here on Webkinz Newz. I would like to see more imaginative underwater themes and floors and wallpapers
i would love to have a guinea pig or bunny room theme! or maybe an easter room theme?
I would like to see the Trick or Treat room theme from last Halloween, the one with the cute couch we received for the Halloween challenge prize. Other ideas I have are a Mardi Gras theme, a Middle-Earth based theme, and one I call Funny Punny (for example, the coffee table can be a coffee mug with a table top).
I would love a flower market theme!

There are a ton of really great ideas here! It makes me want all of them – Michael, I think ganz should do a Minikinz theme with doll house sized buildings of many of these wonderful ideas. There could be a mini Restaurant, Fire Station, Book Store, General Store, Library, Hospital, Pet Shop, Toy Store….. And some mini houses, trees, outdoor elements and vehicles. I’m sure that whatever themes you guys decide to present, they will be good!
The more I think about this…there could be different styles of mini houses which could change appearance as they rotate. Like, a Fairy house that became 4 different Fairy houses. Perfect for designing a Pixie Hollow or Gnome Village. The modern house would have 4 versions to help create a modern town. You could do this with any style! The mini houses could be storage containers so you could store your plushies in them when you’re not playing with them in the room…
