Special Report with Sally Webkinz

Thanksgiving is around the corner, and since it’s a harvest festival, and no harvest is complete without corn… I’m looking at Popcorn in Webkinz World!

Which popcorn looks tastiest to you? I’m pretty tempted by the Trailmix Popcorn — I like a combination of sweet and salty!

Every Saturday night in my small home town in the winter we were at the rink to watch a hockey game. When we got home, we made buttered, salted popcorn in a big pot. Good times. :-)

Don’t know if it’s still available, but I remember multicolored popcorn kernels: Red, (Extra) Yellow, Blue, Green and maybe Purple. Instead of grabbing handfuls, we would pick out single pieces of the color(s) we wanted to eat. I know they all taste the same, but it was fun.

I would love to try each one. I am a big fan of popcorn, my favorite snack to have. These flavors remind me a lot of the Kernels seasoning to sprinkle on popcorn. I have a Giant Tub of Popcorn which wasn’t listed.

Where does the Trailmix Popcorn come from? I recognize all the others, but that one looks delicious and I’d love to get some!

My first memory about popcorn goes back to the late 60’s. My family would visit an elderly relative, my dad’s uncle, and he would make us his special popcorn as a treat for us children. He used an antique copper popcorn popper that you placed on the stove burner and stirred the contents with a knob on the lid. He used peanut oil and just at the right time when the corn was hot and ready to pop he would toss in a handful of sugar and a little salt. The popcorn came out so hot and crispy and was covered in a crunchy sugar glaze that was slightly salty – it was so delicious and just melted in my mouth – a very good memory. :-)

oops it sounds Where I live when able to go to the fair there is a Kettle Popcorn which is sold. It is made in a large kettle constant stirring until the kernels are popped. I believe it is the sugar and salt that is added when it has finished popping it is then stirred to mix. This is so delicious it is the best popcorn I have ever had. I can not leave the fair until I pick up the largest bag available to bring home.
