Special Report with Sally Webkinz

Sally Webkinz is back to talk about something near and dear to her heart….. CHOCOLATE! It’s only been a couple of weeks since my last report and most of this is hush-hush, but I couldn’t resist.

Yes, February is the time for chocolate — for collecting… exchanging.. and EATING. This month is deliciously decadent, and I love it!

Starting February 1st, you can collect valentines. Get cool furniture for each 10 valentines you collect, and collect all 50 to win the grand prize. Best part? You can start the collection over again and get extras of all the cool new items.  What stuff can you win? We-ell, you’re going to have to wait a little longer to find that out.

Cinnamon will be back in the Park again this year, from February 7 – 14, with a whole new set of chocolates. And rumor is that there will be a few ways to get your hands on old chocolates. Again, you’ll have to stay tuned to find out. Let’s just say that I’ll be logging in daily, that’s for sure!

I’ve had a sneak peek of the Deluxe Monthly Challenge prize for February.. and you are going to LOVE IT. I know I do. (It’s not chocolate… but it’s still pretty neat.)

Are you ready for Valentine’s Day? The Webkinz Newz team is making plans — Steve Webkinz is composing valentine letters, Mandy’s practicing on the harp, Michael is planning a four-course feast… and me? Well, I’m looking off into space, dreaming about chocolate. Dark chocolate.. milk chocolate… white chocolate.. I love it all!

Do you do anything special for Valentine’s Day? Let us know in the comments below! (Oh, and what’s your favorite chocolate?)

Cookies and cream Hershey bars and white chocolate chips are best

Do these chocolate count toward the total number in the ‘Share The Love! Community Challenge’ if they are sent thru the kinz-post to other members?

My husband and I will go out to dinner on Valentine’s Day, then exchange cards and small gifts. Growing up we were the ones always overlooked during Valentine’s Day card exchanges at school. Once we became engaged and later married, we began to look forward to Valentine’s Day and romancing each other on Valentine’s Day once we both get off work for the day. My favorite “stress cure” chocolates are Doves Milk Chocolates and or Lindts Milk Chocolate Truffles! Yum! ♪♫LadyBeauty♪♫

The registers that I work at are right where I can see the candy isle. Not to mention the promo stands right by the registers. My co-workers and I see to it that new candies are properly screened!

That is such a sweet share, LadyBeauty! You and your husband are blessed to have each other. Wishing you both a cupid-filled, chocolate-covered, happy V-Day!

Oh my goodness, LadyBeauty, I remember those grammar school Valentines Day celebrations all too well. We were supposed to bring a card/treat/whatever for every member of the class at my school if we wished to participate, but even the best-laid plans may go awry, and not everyone was inclusive. There were several girls who wished to “rule” who brought bigger & better treats (for every holiday) each year as we went up the grades, & deliberately left out the less popular kids…..it really was getting out of hand in this class. Then 4th grade arrived, & one day in early February I overheard one of these girls detailing her plans to impress the class this year to her friend. At that point, I was DONE. I thought, “This year is going to be different. I’m going to create a distraction!” So I went home & gathered craft supplies, & made a Valentine for everyone in the class, all alike, and inside each one I wrote “Happy Valentines Day from your Secret Sweetheart”. I remembered to make one for myself as well, so I wouldn’t be suspected. Valentines Day came & I dropped my regular dime store Valentines into each kids’ bag, along with the second envelope containing the home made ones. No one noticed! People started opening their goodies & the first shout came – “I got one from my Secret Sweetheart! Who’s that?” It got funnier & funnier as each kid opened their Secret Sweetheart card & exclaimed, “I got one too!” Of course, I opened mine & said the same. By now the class was in a frenzy of intrigue over who the daring Secret Sweetheart might be. The lovely treats from the Popular Girls were nice & people clearly enjoyed them, but their intended effect was utterly eclipsed by the excitement over the Secret Sweetheart. Our teacher was mystified & went around the room asking the class clown & all the kids you would expect to get up to such a prank, “Is it you?” Of course they all said no. Her eye finally rested upon me, the quietest member of the class. I gave her a small smile, & WINKED. She made a sound like a stifled snort, went back to her desk, & when she turned around her face was pink & I could see she was trying not to LOL. She said, “Well! This has been the best Valentines Day celebration ever in my classroom!” and I knew she meant it. No one sad, left out or in tears this year! Dear, dear Mrs. Rhodewald, I’ll never forget you!

Awe that’s such a nice story! Thank you for sharing!! :)

      • animalsmatter1 says:

Great story, 1Emerald1!!! And I bet your teacher has never forgotten you, either.

        • 1Emerald1 says:

LOL, thanks, guys. I don’t know, teachers have hundreds, thousands of students come through their classrooms during the course of their careers. I don’t know if she remembers me, but I’ll bet she remembers the Secret Sweetheart! ;)

      • LadyBeauty says:

1Emerald, I loved your story and was stifling my laughter as I am sitting in the public library. Isn’t it a hoot when no one ever suspects those of us who always follow the rules, who are the model students, etc. to pull off the best pranks in which no one or any property is harmed, but gets the point a crossed! I was too timid to do anything like that earlier in school, but by the time I got to my senior year of high school, college, and beyond…, lets just say, no one saw it coming or suspected a thing that I was the mastermind behind the prank. ♪♫LadyBeauty♪♫

    • EmeraldCity says:

Me too LadyBeauty, I love Lindt chocolates, I like the dark with sea salt, things that are too overly sweet gives me the chills and I can’t eat a lot of it. Chocolate covered nuts (any kind of nuts, no caramel though) are my absolute fave…See’s Candies are really good too! Sally Webkinz, we usually go out to dinner at a fancy steak place, not sure where we’ll go this year but would like to try a new restaurant and I like including the family with us. I also love logging in a new Valentine’s Webkinz usually.

  4. Beckinz8 says:

Remember Sally, “stressed” spelled backwards is “desserts”! Chocolate is internationally recognized as comfort food. I have a friend who wants to have it count as eating your veggies, because it comes from beans! Sally, your snack table looks awesome! It’s making me hungry! You guys should all hurry and go join Michael before he eats it all!

  5. ImaPepper says:

Okay, everybody is making my mouth water with all this talk about chocolate, lol. I love chocolate–all kinds. I don’t think I’ve met a chocolate I didn’t like. I can’t think of what would be my favorite chocolate; but my favorite candy is probably chocolate-covered toffee, like a Skor bar or Almond Roca. Mmmm!

  6. TwinnDoll says:

I do not have any valentines day traditions. It is just another day, but webkinz makes it special. So, thank you. I am excited to see the furniture and chocolate we can collect. My favorite type of chocolate is dark chocolate, because I do not eat dairy or eggs.

    • animalsmatter1 says:

Same here, Twindoll—–nothing special around here for Valentine’s Day, (though I will be making steaks for both my Rotties! With a little bit of sweet potato, and some green beans. Yes, they are ridiculously spoiled)…..but Webkinz does make V-Day fun and special for ME!—so I echo Twindoll: Thank you, Ganz for all the Valentine’s Day fun!

In my family, we exchange pretty cards & enjoy – you guessed it – chocolate! My husband & I will go out for a nice dinner, but on a different night than Valentines. We prefer a calmer experience on a night you can actually get a dinner reservation. Same for Mother’s Day, it’s always so busy at every restaurant. We celebrate at home on Mothers Day Sunday, but go out to dinner on a different night.
