Hi everyone, Steve Webkinz here. In today’s special report, let’s take a look at some of the recent changes to Webkinz Newz.
WebkinzNewz.com began as an official information site for Webkinz.com. When Ganz Studios began developing new games outside of Webkinz, there was an effort to create a single portal which tied all of these various properties together. For this purpose, Webkinz Newz then became part of the much larger Ganzworld.com site. Features like an arcade with its own reward currency and prizes were created to add incentive for exploring all around the GanzWorld portal.

As the other Ganz games ran their course and closed down, we’ve returned back to where we started, —with GanzWorld only featuring Webkinz Newz. On the back end, there has also been an ongoing process of moving everything away from unreliable data centers (which led to repeated site down time) and into a much more stable cloud environment.
To make the site run more efficiently in this new environment, not only was it streamlined down to only include Webkinz related news and information, but other features like the GanzWorld Arcade were also removed. However, the “Moneyz” currency earned on Webkinz Newz accounts can still be redeemed for prizes and sent back to Webkinz accounts.

Like all the other people here, I REEEEALLY want to know if the Moneyz are going to be retired or not. I hope not, because they’re the main reason I go to WKN, and the prizes have been really awesome for the last year. Please let us know how long we have to spend our Moneyz before they go away, or even IF they will go away!
I think Steve said the Moneyz currency on accounts can still be used for gifts to send back to webkinz accounts

Is the Pick ‘N Win and Quizzes going to come back?
EVEN if they leave just the (contests) then (EVENTS) as things to do to be able to get rewards it would be HALF but still we do not lose it all . we can still get 500 a day but 600 or 1000 would also be nice. WE have little choice just to ASK and HOPE !
I do the events of getting food every day and peek-a-news. From what you’ve said I must have not known enough about what to do to earn Moneyz. If the activities are still available, what are they, please? >{^;^}<
I’m confused. Can you please clear something up for me? Steve, you said that our “Moneyz” from Ganz can still be redeemed but in a post about a month back it said that Ganz Rewards were being discontinued so we should spend our Moneyz. Has this been reconsidered and the Moneyz feature is being kept?

Thank you for the newz!!! I have been wondering what happened to the games section! I do love the word search game and will miss that!!! Also I hope that if the Monez gets discontinued that we will have a chance to spend all of ours. I do love that there are different items available. I spent a lot of time earning all of mine.
They already told us to spend the MONEYZ it was leaving but as it reads ABOVE maybe it might not. SO we are ASKING now to find out. I SO HOPE it stays I want AW CHESTS !!
Ohh, I remember that! Well, I mean, sort of anyway. I remember noticing that the Webkinz Newz page suddenly looked very different. Ah gosh.. how naive I was! Look at those Signatures being advertised! If only I knew how amazing they were before they retired. XP

Thanks Steve! Question: how long do we have to spend our moneyz & will any new prizes be added? I keep spending up some of mine, then try to earn it back while i still can… a little more clarity on this would be great–thanks! k.
Last I heard there were not going to be any more prizes added. There is still no word on when it will end. I’m trying to save for specific items now. Right now I’m saving for another pair of the pajamas. I have the Bouncy Castle and I just picked up the Electric Unicycle. I think that I may save for some more of the SantaKinz dining chairs but I need more of the choir robes as well. If it lasts much longer I will try to pick up more of the News Room items and perhaps another Hickory Clock.
