Bring a flock of turkeys to the table with this simple craft!

What you need:

-          Cardboard paper towel roll

-          Brown, red and yellow construction paper

-          Googly eyes

-          Glue

-          Scissors

What you do:

Cut your paper towel roll in pieces about 1½“ high. Cut a strip of brown paper to the same width, long enough to go around the roll. Use glue to cover roll with brown paper. To create your turkey’s head, cut a pear shape out of brown construction paper. To make a beak, cut a small diamond out of yellow construction paper. To make wattle, cut a small, long heart out of red construction paper. Glue red heart upside down on the front of the head, and stick the yellow diamond on top. Affix two googly eyes above your turkey’s beak. Now you can stick your turkey’s head to the round side of the paper towel roll with glue, so that your turkey is facing forward when the roll is set on its flat end.

To make your turkey’s feet and legs, fold over a small piece of yellow paper and cut a leg and foot from the double layer of paper, so that you end up with two feet. Using glue, stick the top of the turkey’s legs on the inside of the paper towel roll, so that they are sticking out the bottom, below the turkey’s face.

Set a turkey at each place setting and then poke a napkin into the top. Fan it out to form your turkey’s tail. We used a white napkin, but this would work really well with a brown or red napkin.

Make enough turkeys to greet each of your guests!

Aw!! That’s really cool. Hmm, they put fast food napkins in that, I wonder if it would work with cloth ones?
