With December 2020 approaching, we wanted to give you an update to the future of Webkinz. Back in May 2019, we released the Webkinz Desktop App, and later in the year we released the Mac version. These versions did still use the Flash Player, just without a browser.
We are pleased to announce that we will soon be releasing a NEW Desktop App that no longer uses Flash Player at all. This version will allow you to play Webkinz for years to come!
And there is no need to wait. By downloading and installing the current Desktop App, you will automatically be upgraded to the new version as soon as it is ready.
We at Ganz are very proud of Webkinz and have no intention of a little thing like Flash getting in the way of your fun! We will continue to support Webkinz with new items, new pets and all of your favorite events.
Download the Desktop Application now, and have fun in Webkinz World!
What a relief! I sure wish you could do two accounts at once though!
Thank you Ganz! It’s very reassuring to know our little virtual world will carry on. <3
this is wonderful news! (mute button a good idea too)
When Will The New App Be Ready?
What a relief! We love playing Webkinz. It’s such a stress reliever, especially now. Will the udgraded desktop app be faster? We are still primarily using the browser version because it’s faster than the app.
i deleted old desktop app and now it is working. i had to download flash as well with the new app.
does not run. just says checking for updates!
I’m not using the desktop app until we have to. Please reconsider your stance on a windowed mode. Also consider something for those with multiple accounts, or at least make certain things less cumbersome, like floaties. Glad to hear it about flash, but the desktop app has several other general problems that need fixing as well.
I am hoping that the new update will include the ability to move and adjust the size of the open screen. I often multitask while I play. And my computer screen is quite large. Most of the occupied space is filler that surrounds the actual play area. I cannot think of any other application that I run that does not allow me to move in the perimeter of the screen and to switch between apps.
Good news! I have been working with the Windows app for months with hardly any issues. So glad you guys are on top of this.
