Update on Flash End-of-Life

With December 2020 approaching, we wanted to give you an update to the future of Webkinz. Back in May 2019, we released the Webkinz Desktop App, and later in the year we released the Mac version. These versions did still use the Flash Player, just without a browser.

We are pleased to announce that we will soon be releasing a NEW Desktop App that no longer uses Flash Player at all. This version will allow you to play Webkinz for years to come!

And there is no need to wait. By downloading and installing the current Desktop App, you will automatically be upgraded to the new version as soon as it is ready.

We at Ganz are very proud of Webkinz and have no intention of a little thing like Flash getting in the way of your fun! We will continue to support Webkinz with new items, new pets and all of your favorite events.

Download the Desktop Application now, and have fun in Webkinz World!

For a flash of a hot second yesterday I was caught off-guard by the title, and actually thought this might be good news for me. But no, my webkinz days are still doomed.

Hit the Windows key, right click webkinz on your task bar, and then click close window. Hope this helps ellzton.

I don’t understand. Why would you ask to delete the Family Score points just because you have reached 1 million points? A lot of players haven’t gotten that far. Wouldn’t you rather start over and get duplicates of the prizes rather than make the other players miss out on prizes that they’re working towards?? Also, while I agree that the strength class can be very difficult past a certain level, but it’s supposed to be that way. Again, why delete??? Webkinz is for the entire community and not everyone likes/dislikes the same things. So why not find a different class to sink your time and energy into?

You do not get duplicates of the family score prizes…I reached a million within the first year it came out, and it’s been several more years and there have not been any prizes added. I’ve also been trying to pass the strength class for YEARS and it is too difficult. I’m not in favor of deleting these things, but something needs to be done.

Me Too addictedtowebkinz…have 7 Strength Classes To Pass Until I Receive My Diploma For Strength….Have Been Stuck Here For Years & Years!

I understand that you can’t redo the family score prizes. But rather than deleting it, I asked if carcasa would rather start over. That seems like a more reasonable option than deleting the program.

Thank you so much for dealing with this! I am very happy to hear that we will be able to continue to play Webkinz!

Thank you Ganz! I was very worried about what was going to happen to Webkinz when they were going to end Flash. I have just one question – will there be any difference in any of the activities, such as will any special aspects of the game be changed with this new version? If no, then the link to this should be put on Webkinz’s splash page.

Will there be a way to watch ads to win free prizes on the desktop app? I’ve been using it in a browser just for the free prizes!

I don’t know if it will work for you but I press and hold “Alt” and “Tab” at the same time and it goes to a google window I always keep open. It only works if I have a window open whenever I am playing on the desktop

If I could have one wish for the app it would be for it not to fill the entire screen — so we could still be aware of messages and emails coming in. Other than that, I love the app!
