Update on the Recent “Please Wait” Issue

Recently we’ve received numerous reports of long “Please Wait” cycles happening in Webkinz World. We have discovered the root cause of this issue and want to give an update on it.

 

Over the last few months we have been making numerous changes behind the scenes to improve service performance and reliability. We’ve already seen the benefits of this when over the holidays a major outage hit Ganz, but didn’t affect Webkinz.com.

 

A change last week resulted in players seeing a cycle of the message “Please Wait” appearing and disappearing for an extended length of time. It would pass, but could often take a long time.

 

What was happening is your Friends List was being converted to our new system. For players with only a few friends, it might not even have been noticed. But if you had a full 500 friends, you were in for a wait.

 

The good news is that this will only ever happen once. Once converted, your account is good to go.

 

That said, we were not properly prepared for the impact of this change and apologize for the delays this caused.

 

As a token of our appreciation for your patience, we’ve created a community feature code for all of you. This code awards the S’More Sweater and Scarf and can be redeemed once per account until March 31, 2018.

    I find it odd that I only have 230 some friends but I still get the “please wait” thing coming up.

    Thank you for working hard to address issues that pop up from time to time. One thing that I have noticed is when I play my “dailies”, after Wishing Well, (which is the “daily” I start with), my full food level drops from 100 to 0 by the time I have finished my 5 wishes. Has anyone else noticed this? It has happened everyday for at least the past month. Thank you Webkinz for helping out and doing such a fantastic job!

      Yep, that and the 50% off Deluxe on New Years’ eve day. Maybe the Ganz people would consider a redo offer around Easter? You have worked so hard, and made Webkinz the only online game worth playing since you started up, THANK YOU ALL, and please never stop making soft cuddly pets to take care of and play with! I sooooo much love my furry friends!!!

      Been going on with the food levels well before Christmas – been over a month with this glitch. Sent that issue in all over and still has not been fixed. Wish that one would get fixed as trying to keep up with food is getting a bit much.

      Hi shananski, I have been having these same problems.This has been going since Black Friday for me. I also have sent in many requests to customer service and they never have sent me anything to help. We are not the only people to ask for help. Every day you can read other peoples questions about the same issues. When you pay for food and it goes away very fast, it is very upsetting. I have 75 pets and they need lots to eat. I do have 10 gardens of vegetables which help.

    I haven’t notice this problem on my account but I am getting a ‘waiting for….’ message in a white box on the bottom left of the screen every time I log in and/or change screens. There is then about 20-25 different things that flash in that little white box before I can do anything on the screen I’m on. Is this part of the same problem? It does take quite some time for all those ‘waiting for…’ message to play through.

    Thank you for your kindness. When I was younger, I just loved the game. Following my revival of Webkinz love, I’ve grown to love the community. You are the most involved and kindest creators I’ve ever met! You care so much about us and you’re always willing to hear us out. I want to thank you for all the time you put into this game. If game’s popularity depended on the time the creators put into them, you would be the most popular game ever (as you should be)
