Update on the Recent “Please Wait” Issue

Recently we’ve received numerous reports of long “Please Wait” cycles happening in Webkinz World. We have discovered the root cause of this issue and want to give an update on it.

 

Over the last few months we have been making numerous changes behind the scenes to improve service performance and reliability. We’ve already seen the benefits of this when over the holidays a major outage hit Ganz, but didn’t affect Webkinz.com.

 

A change last week resulted in players seeing a cycle of the message “Please Wait” appearing and disappearing for an extended length of time. It would pass, but could often take a long time.

 

What was happening is your Friends List was being converted to our new system. For players with only a few friends, it might not even have been noticed. But if you had a full 500 friends, you were in for a wait.

 

The good news is that this will only ever happen once. Once converted, your account is good to go.

 

That said, we were not properly prepared for the impact of this change and apologize for the delays this caused.

 

As a token of our appreciation for your patience, we’ve created a community feature code for all of you. This code awards the S’More Sweater and Scarf and can be redeemed once per account until March 31, 2018.

    It’s not just the please wait that is a mess, I clicked on a plant to harvest and it was one that cost epoints, real money, and it has not returned anywhere, not happy

      Hi, THESHIRE–I’ve had stuff like that happen, too; have you tried logging out and restarting your browser? Then log back into WW. Usually things like that resolve pretty simply. If not, I would imagine an email to Customer Support might be in order. Hope it works for you.

    Thank you – I’m not a deluxe member but I am full member. I am no longer allowed to participate in activities that I could last week & last month. Why are new restrictions being placed games & activities for full memberships??

      hi Rufasa1. I have 2 Deluxe accounts at the moment. (I’m only planning to renew 1 account.) I also have some full membership accounts, but don’t go on them as much. I, personally, am so sorry to hear that you’ve been even further restricted from games & activities lately. It makes no sense to me. To tell you the truth, I’m still uneasy about what the Webkinz App will be like. At least GANZ gave us a heads up and explained the change, unlike what is apparently going on with full membership accounts. (You’re comment is not the first one I’ve read about this issue.)
