URGENT: Keep Playing With the Desktop App!

 

Due to an issue beyond our control, as of January 1, 2021, Webkinz Classic will no longer work on browsers. The Flash plug-in, which is required for our site to run will not be supported by browsers after December 31, 2020.

 

The good news is that Webkinz Classic has a downloadable Desktop App that functions exactly the same way as our original site, but it doesn’t require a browser in order to play!

 

To make sure your play is uninterrupted, it’s important to download the Desktop App as soon as possible.

 

Ask your parents for help downloading the Desktop App and installing it on your computer.

 

Downloading the app is simple. Just visit the Webkinz homepage, and click one of the download buttons. There is a version for Windows and a version for Mac.

 

 

When the download has completed click on the wxsetup.exe in Windows or wxsetup.dmg on Mac in your Downloads folder and follow the prompts.

 

Once it is installed, you’re all set! You can continue to enjoy the same game you know and love!

 

And remember – you must install the Webkinz Classic Desktop App before January 2021 in order to enjoy uninterrupted play.

    Oh my desktop app stop responding and I had to uninstall it. Now I can’t find where to go to reinstall it again. I checked the browser for webkinz but all I see if the app for the new Webkinz. Can someone help? Thanks!

    My Macintosh operating system is older and will not run the new desktop app. Is there a version for older operating systems? (before 10.10) If not, I’m concerned that I won’t be able to play anymore.

      Oh, here’s another suggestion, go onto the Webkinz front page from the browser on wwwwebkinz.com and scroll down a bit, and it will have a Mac desktop App, and a Microsoft Desktop App. Whatever computer you have (or laptop) download one, and see if that works. If not try the Microsoft Store. If it doesn’t work then, uninstall it and reinstall it. Hopefully it works. Cause I care to. I think anyone should be able to play it. No player left behind. I’ll try to help, but I think Sally Webkinz will see this and help you out. But if she doesn’t reply, I’ll be happy to help. Also try restarting you’re computer or laptop, and see if that works. Or just buy a new Computer or Laptop. Don’t worry, the GANZ gods will figure it out, and you’ll get to play again!! I need to tell you something, when Webkinz informed us to Update our passwords, I updated it and I forgot my password. But, I thought of the positive, and I got it back by Emailing Webkinz!! I was SO relieved. Just, never give up. Cause if you give up, you’ll never figure it out. I hope my comments help you. Have an AWESOME Christmas! Also feel free to add me.       Can you update your OS? I usually get notifications from Apple when there’s an update…I don’t know how easily every version is to update, but it might be worth exploring?

        Maybe Download the Desktop App from the Webkinz page see if that works. Then if that doesn’t work try to download the app and then uninstall the app and reinstall the app. If that doesn’t work, then just buy a new computer. Or Email Webkinz. I’ll be here to help with suggestions. Cause no player left behind. My UN is frozenanna2 if you want to add me.

        Unfortunately, the graphic programs I use for working at home won’t run in the newer OS, and they are no longer available as a single purchase. Sigh, I’m kind of stuck at the moment…

          :( I’m really really sorry. I think you should just buy a new Laptop. Otherwise, it doesn’t matter because I think you can download the app after adobe flash shuts down. (i think). Ask Sally Webkinz or Email Webkinz. I’d buy a new computer (or laptop). ~frozenanna2.

      If you download the new app from the homepage of webkinz on your desktop or laptop, you will be able to continue playing Webkinz Classic. Like you, I cannot play the new Webkinz until I update my computer.

    Thankfully, I already have it installed. One question: What about Chromebook users? The laptop has become increasingly more common, and I even had one myself (Mine broke and I switched to Windows PC). They need to play too, and I’m guessing you’ll lose a significant fraction of your earnings leaving Chromebook players in the dust. Please do something about this problem- it’s growing, fast!

      We’re doomed, that’s what about chromebook users. And yeah, I have so much time and money and just …life…bound up in this game and I have no idea what I am going to do. My only access online is a chromebook, and the only reason I have it is it was a handed-down/gift from someone lucky enough to get a new computer. I’ve been a player almost the entire run of the game, and I have 16 accounts. And unless some sort of fantastic miracle happens in my immediate future, my entire webkinz empire is just doomed. But I think you are the first non-chromebook user I’ve seen ask about us. Thanks for that.

        Omg!!! I feel SO bad right now!!!!!!! WEBKINZ DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!!!!! I have it downloaded but I still care about the Chromebook Players!!! Why isn’t Webkinz doing something about this?????!!!! But guys, I know something that might work for those Chromebook players, try to download Webkinz from Microsoft store! That may work. If you don’t have an account, make one!!! Because if you care about Webkinz you’d do it. PLEASE WEBKINZ DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!!!!!!!!

    The Kinzville Movie Theater doesn’t work on the Webkinz Classic Desktop App on my PC, but it does on the browser version. I double-checked it again today, but it’s been an issue for quite a while now.

    Now that it’s going to be the main Webkinz platform, PLEASE fix the issue of the lagging controls! Besides how many games need you to have quick reaction time, the Strength class is all but IMPOSSIBLE until you fix this issue.

    Okay, I’ve been working off of the Desktop App all of this time, but when I got the notice from Adobe that they were not going to support Flash and we could delete it, then the desktop would not work until I reloaded it. Do I need to reload or update it somehow?
