Due to an issue beyond our control, as of January 1, 2021, Webkinz Classic will no longer work on browsers. The Flash plug-in, which is required for our site to run will not be supported by browsers after December 31, 2020.
The good news is that Webkinz Classic has a downloadable Desktop App that functions exactly the same way as our original site, but it doesn’t require a browser in order to play!
To make sure your play is uninterrupted, it’s important to download the Desktop App as soon as possible.
Ask your parents for help downloading the Desktop App and installing it on your computer.
Downloading the app is simple. Just visit the Webkinz homepage, and click one of the download buttons. There is a version for Windows and a version for Mac.
When the download has completed click on the wxsetup.exe in Windows or wxsetup.dmg on Mac in your Downloads folder and follow the prompts.
Once it is installed, you’re all set! You can continue to enjoy the same game you know and love!
And remember – you must install the Webkinz Classic Desktop App before January 2021 in order to enjoy uninterrupted play.
I have downloaded the Desk Top App. How do you get to Webkinz Newz and Webkinz e-store?
I’m pretty sure that I uploaded the desktop app in April, so I think I’m good.

Will the issue of having to completely close out of the app between logging into accounts ever be fixed? I am very much dreading when flash goes away and all we have is this app. Not being able to play on more than one account at once will be a huge issue for me. I will never again catch floaties on my other account… really the other account will end being worthless, not worth renewing once we only have the app.
Will the desktop app ever be changed so that it’s not forced full screen? I can’t stand playing games in full screen. I can easily see myself avoiding playing once we are forced into using only this app. I am glad there is a way to not lose everything but it’s just not the same and is going to cause me to want to play less. Also, what about parent accounts… will those still work through the webkinz.com page like normal?

Hi! I have a question please. Why do we have to download before January 2021?? What if I am changing computer and would have to install again? And what does it mean ‘enjoy uninterrupted play’. After January will dissapear? Or we can still download but will be ‘interrupted play’? Thank you!
I just tried downloading the desktop app to my computer but after initially opening it, it closed itself and then my computer said it just blocked a virus from my computer. When I looked at the further details it said it came from the Webkinz download. Can anyone help me?
I downloaded, but I wish there was a way to mute the app on Mac. I like playing while listening to my own music or audiobooks, but it’s annoying with the app with the random sounds from the pets or room.
I sure am glad this works on Windows 7. I have another computer that has been killed by Windows 10 and it would never be able to run Webkinz, so THANK YOU GUYS!
Webkinz is the only computer game I play, and I don’t have Windows or Mac available to me. I can’t join the new Webkinz either. I hope I can figure something out b/c I LOVE Webkinz…
