URGENT: Keep Playing With the Desktop App!

 

Due to an issue beyond our control, as of January 1, 2021, Webkinz Classic will no longer work on browsers. The Flash plug-in, which is required for our site to run will not be supported by browsers after December 31, 2020.

 

The good news is that Webkinz Classic has a downloadable Desktop App that functions exactly the same way as our original site, but it doesn’t require a browser in order to play!

 

To make sure your play is uninterrupted, it’s important to download the Desktop App as soon as possible.

 

Ask your parents for help downloading the Desktop App and installing it on your computer.

 

Downloading the app is simple. Just visit the Webkinz homepage, and click one of the download buttons. There is a version for Windows and a version for Mac.

 

 

When the download has completed click on the wxsetup.exe in Windows or wxsetup.dmg on Mac in your Downloads folder and follow the prompts.

 

Once it is installed, you’re all set! You can continue to enjoy the same game you know and love!

 

And remember – you must install the Webkinz Classic Desktop App before January 2021 in order to enjoy uninterrupted play.

    Does anyone know how to decrease the size of the images and text in the desktop Windows app? Everything is way bigger than when I use flash to access Webkinz. Thanks everyone!

    just did this, I like webkinz world, if any changes hope it goes smoothly I don’t want to worry about webkinz world it’s the only thing I have to do, I love my pets.

    Is there going to be a version of the app without flash? I read that there was but haven’t seen anything else about it. I can’t load it on my new laptop because it doesn’t have flash.

    I have been having problems with the desktop app for days. For some reason when I went into the park, the program uninstalled itself. I have had a hard time reinstalling it, and when I do, it frequently uninstalls itself again. I am using a Windows 10 operating system on a laptop with McAfee virus protection. Any help would be appreciated. I tried to go into the park four times last night and had to reinstall every time and it uninstalled itself every time. It is very frustrating.

    I renewed my Deluxe in October. Will I be refunded or will I be able to play using a program other than Flash Player?

      You will be able to continue playing but ONLY with the Desktop App. You will no longer be able to play from a browser, the Flash plug-in will be discontinued the end of this year.

      You should be able to still play on the app. The Webkinz “Classic” desktop app is not the new Webkinz 3D game they released. Your account from Flash Player/Webkinz in your browser will be the same on the desktop app. Your Deluxe benefits should be there too

    Any chance that the app will ever have a way to save login info, so it doesn’t have to be typed out every time?

      Please! It is so annoying with 2 accounts to type in the name and password overtime. Also, has the app had an update? I downloaded it onto my mac desktop when it came out at the start of the year. So glad other than having to use the app, everything works just like the website, Deluxe and all.

    I was so stressed out yesterday. My desktop app stopped working and I had to delete it. The place to download it was not showing up when I used FireFox. I happened to try Edge this morning and there it was. Why does it not show up on FireFox but does on Edge? Where will this app be available to download after January? Will it always be at webkinz.com?

      Mine did too, and I panicked thinking, “What if this happens next year?” This time I was able to download it again from the chrome browser.

      I had the same problem only mine uninstalled itself multiple times. Sometimes I could not get it to reinstall. Sorry this happened to you but in a way it’s good to know it’s not just my computer having issues, this is something that they can hopefully fix. I am using Chrome and Edge and sometimes I can find the download link and sometimes not.

    URGENT! Do you have an app for Google Chromebooks yet? My sister has a Chromebook and has started to back off of Webkinz [since the beginning notification about Flash Player] because the website is slow–and freezes, and she knows that she will be unable to play it soon. The main computer in the house is the work computer for our parents, and my laptop is school and work [so when I get time to play Webkinz it's rare, and whenever I have down time].

    Hey guys!!!! I figured out how to Minimize the Webkinz Desktop App!!! Ok so it’s very very simple, you just click (alt, and “space”) At the same time then, there will be a small setup at the top of the computer screen then, press “minimize” the Minimize icon should look like this, _ Minimize. If you have any questions, lmk. I have to tell you guys something, my cat was on the key board, and that’s how I figured out how to minimize it. LOL. It’s a very good cat.
