Webkinz Next Gem Hunt Showcase!

Have you been gem mining in Webkinz Next yet?

You can visit the mines once per day using either the entrance inside or outside the Curio Shop.

You can also jump directly into the mines from your map.

Search inside the mines for glittering rocks. When you get close to one, a pickaxe will appear that you can use to mine the rock.

There are five different colors: white, red, blue, yellow, and green. The color of rock you choose means there’s a chance you’ll find any gem rarity of that color. But there’s also a chance you’ll find 1 of 2 specific uncommon colors of gem, or 1 of 3 specific common colors of gems.

Unlike Classic, you can find up to 3 gems in one mining session. If you don’t find a gem, you’ll get slag instead, which you can keep to use as a material for crafting special items on the Curio Shop’s Gem Crafting Table.

If you find more than one gem in a single mining session, you’ll have to choose which one you take back to Amanda Panda. You see a counter showing you how many of each gem you already have stored in your collection so you can make an informed choice.

Once you take your gem back to Amanda Panda, she’ll make you an offer to buy your gem. The amount depends on its rarity and how much she wants it. If you’ve collected the Gem of the Day, she’ll offer you the maximum price for that type of gem.

If you choose not to sell, your gem goes into your collection box, where you can store unlimited multiples of each type of gem. Here’s a look at all of them:

Once you’ve collected at least 1 of all 30 different gems, you can trade in a complete set for a Crown of Wonder and walk around looking like Kinzville royalty!

Afterwards, you can keep on collecting gems for another crown, or use your extra gems on the Curio Shop Gem Crafting table to create some gem-tastic prizes!

I love the Next style of mining! The designers have created quite a beautiful little world beneath Kinzville. I am having trouble finding the Royal Ruby, and the Enchanted Emerald, but I have multiples of all of the other gems. Just to clarify, according to this article I should be mining only green or red sparkling rocks right now to find those last two elusive gems, right? Is there a specific spot in the mine where these two are more likely to be? I usually just mine in the central cavern, but if another spot is a prime location, please share that tip with the rest of us. I’m patiently/impatiently waiting to get my first crown of wonder. *fingers crossed*

Gem mining is super fun in Next. Love this guide even though I was enjoying just seeing the random gems as I’ve been collecting. Do you have to have a Crown of Wonder to craft with gems or can you just start doing it as soon as you have enough gems?

Speaking of beautiful colors, how about some amazing holiday plush for Next? And an owl please! Holiday or non, I would be hooterifically happy to see an owl. Most of all though, I am Sonari, so naturally I’d like to see a bat. I know bats aren’t very popular, but maybe for Halloween next year? Thanks for the consideration if nothing else. Happy Kinzing!

This was very helpful, thank you! Until I have the gem values memorized, I can use these pictures to know what’s more valuable. This was actually a question I was going to ask, about mine color meaning, but now I don’t have to. I do however have other questions:
    1) On the parent account I see there is an option to confirm a friend and one for trading. What do these mean? How are they accomplished?
    2) The flowers that bloom around Kinzville – they seem to be limited to three per day. This also seems true of the floating W for prizes. Is that correct?
    3) Do digital pets purchased with diamonds at the adoption center have sparks? Do they have the same number of sparks as the plush?
    4) Does the Salon have a free food every day that I’m missing, or is it just a cute place to play?
    5) This isn’t a question, but I wanted to add how much I really love all the crafting. I forgot about the curio table, which is sad because I didn’t start that long ago and I think the game directs you there, in any case though it’s so cool that it has even more fun things to craft! Really enjoying this game and the connection to classic most of all. Thank so much!

Those options in the Parents Area are for features that are not yet available. They will be explained when the features are launched. Yes, both the flower and the Magic W are limited to 3 per day. Virtual pets do indeed come with 3 sparks, just like the plush. Right now, the only exceptions are the free starter pet (1 spark) and Limited Edition plush (no sparks). The Salon is just a place to play right now. Glad you’re enjoying crafting and playing in general!

I really enjoy the WNext Gem Hunt. The waterfall room and the mushrooms are amazing! I also like that there is a place for Adventure Scouts to camp. I’ve made a Crown of Wonder, a Sparkling Gem Floor, and a Blue Geode so far. Just need a few more gems so I can make the Carved Gem Bed next.

Thank you so much for the picture guide of the gems in Next! Very helpful! :)

  9. Fedorovgirl says:

Ok, so let me get this straight— if you find a glittering Blue rock, there is /no/ chance it will have a /Rare/ Green, Red, White or Yellow gem inside?

  10. FoxesRule612 says:

Lots of cool gems here! But it’s too bad that there’s no iconic W-shaped gem
