First of all – thank you again to everyone who entered our 2017 Pet Design Contest. We can’t say enough how difficult it has been to choose a winner. There were almost 900 amazing entries which we narrowed down to a list of ten wonderful finalists. We read your comments and we discussed it among our team.
We decided to go with a unique pet based on a real animal that we think will make a great addition to the Webkinz family. The adorable Axolotl by Taydarsauce is our winning design and will be available in the eStore starting on Webkinz Day 2017.

Congrats Taydarsauce! We just looked it up – it’s an amazing creature. Here are our ideas: a noodle-like dish made of worms could be its PSF and its PSI could be a minnow toy to chase around, or, especially if there isn’t a lake/pond underwater theme already, a bed with plants that it can hide out and sleep in. I just can’t get over its healing superpowers and, well , its cuteness.
It looks great! Congratulations to Taydarsauce! I really hope it becomes a plush, too.
I have a little different suggestion .How about little plush of this pet so it will have friend around always ! You have a green lizard and this could be the same size at those plush but now pink and feathery.

Thank you for the education Taydarsauce, Webkinz, and Ganz! Not sure how I got to be my age {old!} and have never heard of this little creature. An interesting design and choice :D

Congrats Taydarsauce!! I voted for your design because it is a real amphibian that is not already a webkinz. I hope they use your PSI and PSF drawings. Also, I hope this pet can move from underwater to other rooms without needing a helmet :)
