Hey guys… Michael Webkinz here, reporting for Webkinz Newz. I am back with your first look at some of the final items that will be included in this year’s brand new Halloween room theme: The Haunted Castle! This theme will be available in the W-Shop on October 1st.
One interesting aspect about this theme is that it can be mixed and matched with the rare Medieval theme that can be found at the Curio Shop. Imagine a Medieval Dining Table featuring mostly regular Medieval Chairs with one or two Haunted Castle dining chairs mixed in with the rest? Or the same idea with the columns? At first glance it would appear that the room was simply a medieval themed room however, on closer inspection, the castle would appear to be haunted!
I can’t wait to see the Haunted Castle screenshots players will send me when this theme is released on October 1st…

What happened to the purple that made everyone vote for this theme? Kind of makes the vote null and void doesn’t it to change it AFTER people voted. Why bother to even leave it up to the WKZ News community if you were only going to do what YOU wanted and change it afterwards?

Now for the pets and costumes. What are they going to be? How about making the bookcase or the knight suit a hidden storage place for the candy that the ghost will be giving out.
not caring for this. too much of the same items, 2 items are new and not worth changing around already cool medieval rooms for. A completed haunted hotel themed items would have been much better. I like a complete room theme better then a few pieces every few years. multiple accounts with hundreds of pets and their rooms. many items scale sizes dont work together. Im still waiting for the Haunted ferris wheel I purchased back when estore first opened to reappear on my one account. among other items but halloween is my favorite and was looking forward to better storage that doesnt take up half a wall and block view of everything else. oh well, here’s to hoping
Well, Michael, it sounds like a lot of people are looking forward to mixing this HALLOWEEN (?) theme with the Medieval theme. I loved the original concept drawings with purple, the knight with glowing eyes, the ghost queen, and more spooky items. Now that the changes have been made, it doesn’t even look like a HALLOWEEN theme. It doesn’t look haunted at all! It looks like my Lion Family haven’t dusted their Medieval room for a year! And I was sooooooo excited by what I thought was going to be a great HALLOWEEN theme from the look of the concept drawings. This RED room was definitely not what I thought I was voting for. Speaking of “red” (as it is a CHRISTMAS color & I haven’t seen it associated with Halloween other than an accent color) Michael, if you wanted to stay with the Medieval theme, with a few additions / decorations, it could have made a beautiful Christmas theme.
Love that this theme will match the Medieval theme–I think I’ll make a room with a dining table and chairs, where one or two of the chairs are “haunted” and a portrait of the queen nearest the haunted chairs. Kind of like that end of the table doesn’t get used because of the ghosts…. Ooooooo! :-)
LOL! Yes, animated haunted stuff should be added to the items I think to make it awesome!

Sorry I’m on a roll here but it would be fun if the Knight statue would have glowing eyes show up now and then (animated) and the candles on the table would glow then move as though a wind was taking the light out, and the side chair could have a ghostly being rise up behind it (maybe an image of the queen saying hello), yikes!!! LOL!
Or the eyes could follow your mouse :D

I like how you think, EmeraldCity–I love those ideas. They would certainly give a more haunted feel to rooms; the dust and cobwebs are creepy, but they can look simply “neglected” and not necessarily “haunted”–in my opinion, anyway. :-)
