A Surprise for Molly

Well, I had just about the worst afternoon. Roberta and Nibbles and I looked all over Kinzville for Millie and there was no sign of her anywhere. Roberta and Nibbles were being so nice and telling me it was going to be okay, but I could tell they were really worried about Millie. Then, as we were walking into my backyard, we heard a voice coming from somewhere above us. We all stopped to listen. It sounded like Millie and it was coming from the tree house!

I raced up the tree house ladder and peeked inside and there was Millie, sitting in a circle with her dolls and pouring them each a cup of tea from her toy teapot! I practically screamed “Millie!” at her in relief, and she just looked over as if nothing had happened and said “Oh, hi Molly!”

“Where have you been?” I cried, and suddenly she seemed to recall that she was mad at me. Her face twisted into a grimace, she crossed her arms, turned her back on me and stated “This is my new home and you’re not welcome here.”

I didn’t care if she was giving me the cold shoulder or not. I leapt across the room and grabbed her up in my arms and hugged her. I felt like I didn’t ever want to let go. I told Millie that I was sorry I tried to make her eat all her carrots. She said that she was mad because she thought that when I babysat her we were just going to have fun together all day and when I tried to make her eat her carrots I ruined that.

Maybe I was being a little too rigid. I guess when I’m babysitting I can chill out a bit and let my mom worry about things like getting Millie to eat her vegetables on her watch. So I promised Millie that next time I babysat I would not be so bossy if she promised to never ever EVER run away like that again.

Then Roberta and Nibbles climbed up the ladder and joined us in the tree house and the four of us enjoyed a lovely tea party until my mother came home. I even went into the kitchen and got the ice cream out of the freezer and we all had a bowl.

I wonder whether Molly will ever give her mother babysitting coupons again. She really needs to tell her parents what happened. I think it may be time for the Pig family to call in some help. Like the Super Nanny or something!

Told ya she would be hiding in the yard.

Wow. I hate to think what Millie will be like “next time”. The Pigs are doing their daughter no favors by not teaching her to behave properly. What will happen next?

I didn’t think she ran away. Millie would be so lost on her own in Kinzville. I agree, though, starwarslover, Millie should have eaten her carrots anyway. After all Molly and her friends did… ran around Kinzville, worried their heads off, and Millie still gives her attitude? Millie needs to learn discipline and listen to who’s in charge.

I agree with lovebugs, you didn’t do anything wrong and by telling her that you did she is going to be more of a monster every time you babysit and will always threaten to run away if you make her go to bed on time, pick up her toys or be quiet while the baby is sleeping when your cousin is there. You need to tell your parents, you don’t want to leave her thinking it is ok what she did to get her own way.
