Scientific study of rocks and plants
By Alex Tiger
I made a New Year’s resolution over three months ago to try and find a new species of plant or type of rock and so far I’ve found nothing. It’s time to get serious about this. I have decided that I have not been methodical enough in my studies, so I have decided to narrow in on one area at a time and search thoroughly before moving on, keeping meticulous records of where I have searched so far.
I’ve started by cordoning off an area near my house. I have borrowed tools from my dad’s workshop and I am going to carry out my digs with precision and care. I have to collect samples and then clean them off and make note of their properties to compare them to existing records. If I find the characteristics are unique, then I will have discovered a new rock or plant!
I am determined to do this. I just know that I will find something if I look hard enough.
Wow, who is this guy? He definitely doesn’t sound like a kid. “I have decided that I have not been methodical enough in my studies, so I have decided to narrow in on one area at a time and search thoroughly before moving on, keeping meticulous records of where I have searched so far.” Yeah… I have no idea what he’s saying. xD But good luck to him on his… uhh… methodical studies… whatever he said.
to ladybugheart: Methodical means “with a plan” and meticulous means “noticeably”. to alex: I know you can do it! and P.S. I am just as scientific as you are. Good luck with your methodical searches. ;-) Your friend, KRAZY 4 DOGZ
